Start with a Brembo Master cylinder ,may be all you need . Thats what I found with my Gen 1 . Oh & Cast iron rotors .

Got the latest master cyl on my gen 2.
and in another week or so will have ohlins forks and brembo radial calipers on my gen 1. This is a gen 2 set up, so the calipers will bolt directly onto a gen 2 set of forks. Yr welcome Paul to come have a look if you like?

I have Brembo calipers on my gen one, and caste iron rotors and the Brembo master cylinder. can't do better, don't go half way. get the lot and you'll have the best possible brakes you can get.
My 2 cents. Max
