The pair were on the unrestricted dirt bike looks like it had no lights & not wearing helmets, what you recon was going to happen, it was an accident waiting to happen but the driver should have still stopped

It was on the news tonight. Regardless, the boy was frantically doing CPR on his dead girlfriend with a broken leg. Doesn't matter how stupid the kids were, the driver should have stopped.

It is a sad story but I can't help thinking that it could have easily been prevented.

yeah they could have still been alive :( Having helmets would have been a big help

This is where I seriously pretty much ignore the road law. As long as I get home alive I don't care. Its just down south we have stupid police ads saying a biker can't stop his bike in 30 meters from 68kph if someone pulls out on you, giving drivers an excuse when they do hit us. :(

Hope she is made an example of and her hubby for trying to cover it all up!!

Very sad indeed, whether they were doing the right thing or not. I have been hit by a couple of cars on my motorbikes, and have always worn full safety gear and probably owe my life to it. Sad that they werent at least wearing helmets. Weak dog in the car should have stopped though, weak.

No matter what caused the event they drove off from it and tried to hide it. Do them for murder she didn,t give a rats a##e what damage she had caused. Whether they had helmets on or not is not the point did she die of head injuries if not a helmet would have made no difference. We all jump on the wagon saying about helmets but forget the fact that helmets can also break your neck as a study was done many years ago but got covered up the human head is not designed to take that extra weight and they used to put broken necks down to head injuries not broken neck caused by the weight on the helmet. My 2 cents worth.

Murder suggest intent and it's still unclear who caused the event.

She deserves a heavy sentence for fleeing an accident and leaving that poor little thing to die.

I agree also that helmets could easily do more damage than they are meant to prevent under certain circumstances, but on the whole it's fair to say that isn't typically the case.
