Stoner to retire

You've got to admire when a man puts his family first. Well done sir. Besides, he's more than proved his ability and doesn't buy into the hype. Nice to see a grounded individual at that level.

Thats sad he is a great rider and a great person it will be a shame to not see him giving it his best but at least he his going to go out at the top and not leave it to retire as an also ran. good luck to whatever he takes on next.

He's been doing it for so long. The physical pain he has experienced with breaks and arm-pump and fatigue - the will to keep up the incredible pace has obviously taken it's toll. He has run an incredible race ande won, seeing off thebest the world has ever seen in Rossi on his own bike. He has to have a very healthy bank account.
Time to start having fun!!!BikerBikerBiker
I wonder if a person with his skills will ever be found riding a non-descript road bike around the country roads, highways and by-ways on weekends? Having fun!

He's doing it for the right reasons so good on him.

I honestly thought though, that we were witnessing the begining of the greatest rider of all time unequaled to anyone.

At least he can retire flying the 2fast4u banner held high!

Well done Casey Clap Trophy

This is gonna spark a debate weather people think he's better than Rossi ever was because Rossi couldn't ride his championship winning Duc... Best of luck to him though. I just hope he won't want to turn around in a cupple of years and race again cause he felt he had unfinished biz.

Could be a wise decision. Putting his family first and going out (hopefully) while he's on top. Not many sportsman have walked away in their peak only to hang around and become a shadow of their former selves. Best wishes to him. Like him or hate, he's a hell of a rider...Trophy
As a side-note, i made a bet with a friend 6 weeks ago that stoner would retire at the end of the year. Sweet, i haven't had maccas in a while!!!!!!

Wayne Gardener tried that and was not very successful.

Casey Stoner is a talented rider, and good luck to him with whatever he chooses to do with the rest of his life Clap

So who's coming to the MotoGP this year to see Stoner like we'll never see him again? I vote we put in a Busa club big one!!!

I was a bit shocked at the announcement personally since he just joined Honda & was kicking arse Pi_tongueTrophy

But he is on top , new family & still reasonably fit & not busted all up like Doohan .

Respect Pi_thumbsup

Surely he wouldn't sink that low; outdated barges in a local competition?
