Problem after first service
#1
Hi all,
I'm new here & after some advice please.
Took the Busa to the dealer for the first service which i understood was just an oil/filter and a check over - bike was running perfectly.

On riding home, I noticed a few issues not evident before the service.
There was a constant popping/backfiring through the cans on overrun, idle speed was erratic & there was a definate hesitation/fluffiness at small throttle openings.
Gearchange was also clunkier but suspect that may have to do with the Shell oil - dunno.

When i checked the invoice I noticed that they had synchronised throttle bodies - when i queried this they said they just checked but didn't adjust.I suspected a vacuum leak ( hose partially left off maybe )
I have since had the bike back to them to recheck everything - slightly better but the issue remains.

Something has happened during the initial service but it appears they are unable to determine what.

I'm unhappy with the bike the way it is & reluctant to take it back for a third time - not sure where to from here.
Sorry for the long winded post but any advice appreciated.

Cheers,
Mozza.

BTW bike has Yosh R77 cans but these were fitted from new with no issues until 1st service.

Mozza,

I'd take it back to the dealer again and if unsuccesful go to your state consumer affairs department's website and lodge a complaint.

Then take it to someone who knows how to synchronise throttle bodies.

I've just gone through a very similar thing. I've only just 10min ago changed the mapping on mine and it seems heaps better but still yet to do some proper tests with the data logger.

There's quite a few knowledgeable guys in the forum so they may be able to give some better advice.

Popping on overrun is most likely an exhaust leak drawing air in , pair valve can do that with aftermarket exhausts too
Possibly they moved the exhaust during the service an not fitted it back up well ??

the idle stuff, ?? depends what they did and sounds like there not saying much

Do not go back. Just bitch to Senior management n tell em to get stuffed.
Take your bike to someone that knows what they're doing & not some dealership that unloads it to the apprentice butcher mechanic

Mate if it wasn't there before you took it in for the first service, then they have done some thing wrong, take it back and stick it to them!

Piss poor service is par for the course and needs to be addressed. I would take it back and demand to speak with the manager. I would then expect him to get the mechanic in and ask for an explanation as to why a brand new bike is now running crap after they fiddled with it. This is not too much to expect nor is it unreasonable. If they cannot or will not agree to this I would be writing to Suzuki Japan...not that bunch of useless f...s in Aus who only try to duck the issue's. I would also be telling the dealer that this was my intention.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'd prefer not to name the dealer at this time.
While they haven't at this point resolved the issue, they have stated that they are prepared to work to find a fix.
I am obviously reluctant to give them another shot at rectifying the problem, but I have paid for a service & feel they should fix their error.
Can't work out why they would even bother checking TBS at the first service if the customer hasn't made a complaint.

Still deciding which way to go with this.

Totaly agree. Especially going to the trouble of hooking everything up and then saying they didn't even adjust anything. Doesn't sound right.
You've caught them out on a lie with that one I think.

I'd give 'em the benefit of the doubt that they'll at least find n fix the issue, if not I'd ask for my money back on the service and go elsewhere.
