safety barriers

I actually agree that they should not be using these wire rope death traps and if it seemed that way, my apologies!!!! I was just pointing out the fact that they are effective at what they were designed to do.

History is littered with inventions that were effective at what they were designed to do, but not really "user friendly". Biggest that comes to mind is asbestos.......

Your "Own Actions" were to CHOOSE to ride a bike instead of drive a car. WTF does this have to do with wether I've received a CTP Green Slip Insurance Product Disclosure Statement lately or ever for that matter?

Being forced onto one of these so called safety fences by some drunken cage driver is also part of your own actions. Ultimately you chose to be in that spot, at that time.

We all risk our health and or life EVERY SINGLE DAY. Just to walk across the street you can be run down by (as you say) a "drunken cage driver" who in reality it is more likely to be a distracted, tired, or just plain ignorant shlepp, who - at the end of the day - would prefer to have not hit you in the first place so they can get to where they were going.

Life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or choose your own platitude, they all boil down to harden up and deal with the situation you find yourself in because YOU are the only one who can/will/wants to make it better.

Absolutely in no way relevent, if I was driving a car, I would have been dead no worries;

You will not receive one either, Australia's peodofile Non Resident For Taxation Purposes Foreign Minister legislated against it. The Government doesn't want you to know, how much or how little you are actually insured for.

Yeah, but you didn't choose to poor all the piss down the drunken ars*hole's throat in the first place. Wtf

Gee, you must be a big dangerman when you ride a motorcycle on the road. Motorcycles are not dangerous and they were never meant to be.
Have you defied the law of gravity lately ??? Clap

End of the day, it happened. IF you'd chosen to be in a tank, it wouldn't have hurt you.
IF
IF
IF
You can't change the past, so CHOOSE what you will do with YOUR future.

And I still don't see the relevance of CTP to a discussion about the effectiveness of wire safety barriers.

"A big dangerman when you ride a motorcycle on the road." Why would I want to be? All I want is to enjoy my time when I'm out riding and get home to see my family -safely. NOT to "DEFY GRAVITY" as you put it, because that is impossible. Your photo of the "sphere of death" show two people, OFF the road, Sticking well within the laws of gravity (circular motion). Here is a link you might be interested in, which will explain it better than I can.

Good study done by Monash Uni on the wire rope barriers versus the concrete barriers as it high lights the pro`s and cons of both and the concrete actually came out safer, they also did one in germany which proved the same thing

These guys sell and install the cheese cutters, as well as some good alternatives for we two wheelers.

Can't imagine why these haven't been adopted by the powers that be.....
