HID headlights
#16
The next week end I'm available is 23 and 24 August.

I think it was no more than 3 hours from go to wo for the lights. But that included the "where are we gunna put these" thinking and discussion time.

Should be able to knock it over in a couple of hours. We know exactly what we are doing know.

Down and back in one day is possible I reckon.

That's an interesting point, with standard lights are there brighter bulbs that can be put in?

Hey Heidi,

Have you received the correct hi-beam globe yet?

Let me know when you've got it and I'll fit it for you.

I do quiet a bit of night riding at times cause i live in the sticks, Strait line riding is no problemo, both beams are ok. But i find when i'm going through twisties or tight sweepers & the angle of the bike changes , ie the headlight gets lower to the road the area of beam decreases heaps so i cannnot see stuff all. Just thinking for a big road trip with lots of night riding i'd be looking at extra driving lights for sure as well as hid's.Also if your gunna sit on big speeds you'll want to see a k up the road cause you'll be there in 2 seconds.

Im sold and want to convert. I may have missed it but in case its not included;

Is it worthwhile installing both both High and low beam (are the bulbs the same - I dont have access to my manual).
Watt wattage - is it the same for high and low beam?
Preferred colour seems to be 5000 or 6000 - any recommendations
Are their motorcycle specific kits or is it determined by the globe type ie H7?

thanks

Oh wow. Thanks Mr Sensible for the trip down memory lane. Thank god for the search button! And no, I never did get around to getting that high-beam bulb, slack bugger that I am. That was a fun weekend.

Heidi,

Went to the Creek on Easter Monday expecting to see yu and Bruce - where were you.

It was a great day. Did a PB of 1.55.7 in session 2, but then couldnt get any better than 1.57. Amazing how difficult it is to save 2 seconds over 4.7km!

Any way, hope all is well and tht you are gettin some good riding on the new bike.

Cheers

Steven

Bruce and I were meant to be out at the salt flats in March, so I didn't book any track days! Kicking myself now. We have a few coming up in the next while though. I heard there were quite a few stacks on Monday, what group were you in? Did you catch up with Mick Camelleri? He would have been in the RATS garage.
