Tim,
What about Brembo brake upgrade?
Also Ohlins suspension upgrade?
Two vital things I would consider with all the added accessoriers!!!
They are both on my to do list, however they are on the back burner with the new house im building later this year!!!

Tyron, it's a big fun list, but I'm still on a budget like everyone else, I've got three kids, mortgage, car payment, the usual. Will take several years I think to finish this bike. We doubled our Ohlins sales this last year, so Ohlins is becoming a big product line for us. Will have to think about that.
As for Brembo, we are an authorized dealer for them also; I actually had a complete kit of Accossato Master Cylinders for clutch & brake from a guy in Finland who cancelled his order. Seriously considered putting it on the bike. But ended up trading it out for other nibbly bits. I kept his Galfer Wave Rotors though and sent them out to be stripped, then custom anodized blue, then engraved on the carrier with the Pashnit logo. The rivets I had them anodized gold. Rear Galfer Wave Rotor I put on there yesterday & it looks awesome- same one as yours! Need to swap the rear tire though in next day or so.
Ran the PFR Series rotors front/back one season, those are coming off and going up for sale.
Keep in mind this bike is being set up to travel with a bit of bling. :)

You could at least put on the Vortex rearsets in black.

Tim,
I hear you... BUDGETS!!! They suck
There not done on my bike yet becasue they are BIG ticket items and it seemed smarted spending the same amount of money on multiple things rather then individual items., however they are serious upgrades which I need to do, especially a guy of my physic... lol
Looking forward to seeing the project continue mate.

A quick background though... Purchased the '00 way way back, still my favorite color scheme, and specifically went hunting for the blue/silver. Seems we've got a couple of them on the board.
Started with this...
...but hated the black, so that had to go!
Several years later, had reached this! Awesome!
Wrote a rather long-winded page about all the mods that went onto the '00: Can read about that here

Travelin' machine
Many, many moons later, it was time for an upgrade.
I love the blue/silver mate.
She's very tidy!
good work!

So let's get on with it!
First thing, get rid of those clunky looking Frankenstein bolts.
Got these in a forum group buy
On they go, add a small black cap & we've got a nice clean look.
Next, let's cover up those unsightly holes in the frame. Frame Caps can be very cheap plastic ones, or some very nice chrome caps with the Kanji hand painted. These have a threaded rod that runs through the frame. We'll also get some for the axles. They are simply hand tightened.
Some options here for you:

Much better!
The footpegs also fit into my Clunky category plus that ginormous feeler has to go.
Generically called slash cut footpegs, here are some options for the Busa; we carry everything from super-bling & spike, to racing pegs like these.
http://www.pashnitmoto.com/category_s/141.htm
This is an Oberon peg, sourced from the UK. These are well worn and pulled off my '00. The front pegs are interchangeable, the rear are not between the two Gens.
And lighter!
Much cleaner.

G'Day Pashnit,
Like your work. I have the same K8 blue/gold and it will be interesting to see the mods progress.

Next we'll also toss the stock shift lever & brake pedal for folding models. Why swap those out? If you've ever watched your buddies bike fall over in a parking long on a long multi-day ride and watch him snap off his shift lever? That'll make the decision for you. Yes, that's actually happened on a Pashnit Tour.
Stock brake pedal
Emgo Folding Shift Lever & Brake Pedal. These are low cost, and will someday save the day.
Go Here to Purchase:
http://www.pashnit.com/product/emgo/shif...s.html#top
On the Busa, taking off the brake & shift lever, you'll need an alan wrench and a snap ring pliers.
Remove snap ring
Remove the springs - if you have a Spring Puller tool, use that preferably.
Spring Puller Tool
Then the rear cotter pin for the brakes
Sweet! Got brake pedal off nice and clean. Take the new folding pedal and install.
The Shift Lever is a bit more involved, but still easily done. No need to take the rearset off on this side:
Once we got that off, can compare to make sure everything matches.
On the Gen-II (08+) Busa, the shift rod is a different length then the Gen-I (99-07). Here's a pic of both. The Gen-II (-8+) is shorter, but still works just fine.
Just remember when you put it back together, the shift rod has reverse threads on it.
On goes the snap ring:
Seems simple enough, but it needs to be adjusted. Hop on bike and put your foot where it would rest, then shift through the gears. Adjust the shift lever up or down with the shift rod.
All finished!
