Is there anyone who knows what the date stamp on motorcycle tyres looks like?

I think the attached picture is the manufacture date of the rear tyre i bought last year and from what i read it was manufactured in the 21 week of 2008 , is that correct ?

Yes, 21st week of 2008. Its odd that a lot of web pages from manufacturers tell you about all the sidewall info, bar the date of maufacture.

Bridgestone's site has the following info about tyre age:

QUOTE:
How old is too old?

This is a subject of much debate within the tyre industry and no tyre expert can tell exactly how long a tyre will last. However, on the results of experience many tyre companies, including Bridgestone, warrant their tyres against manufacturing and material defects for five years from the date of manufacture. Based on their understanding a number of vehicle manufacturers are now advising against the use of tyres that are more than six years old due to the effects of ageing.

Thanks Belzybob , i guess the back tyre is good for a while yet .
The front on the other hand looks like it's past it's use by date as there is a little cracking in the tread groves.
The date in it reads VHA4906 .
