I use silver bait.
- infact, I'll be fishing tonight.

It's called silver bait - but these days it's usually gold or folding.

Fairly easy to use and seldom fails - go to fish and chip shop, hand over bait, pick out fish. Pi_tongue Lol3

for surf - I live inland so my surf rod and reel are a home for spiders.

10 ft rod, heavy sinkers, depending on sets, I put sinker at end of line, 2x hooks

My fishing gear got stowed when I bought my first hayabusa.
Ward's last line is pretty much right for the surf. I have a 12ft rod hanging on the wall collecting dust.
I also had a rod holder to plant in the sand and wait for the bites. Sometimes it takes a while and sometimes you don't use it!

that is a cracker dave. I am going down the creek this morning to see how mine went last night. Surf fishing is as everyone has suggested, 12' rod, alvey reel, big sinkers and learn how to catch beach worms. look for a gutter and chuck it in. Talk to as many old crusty lookin buggers as you can, usually the crazy looking old bloke with the worn out fishing gear wearing a blue singlet and a pair of faded green king gee work shorts knows where the fish are

I was thinking the exact same thing. As we are all time poor these days we might as well cut out the unnecesary middle steps!Pi_freak
