Had the same thought 6 years ago whats this race pattern is it a wank or is there something more to it so made the decision to try it as Shane said reversed the knuckle didn't have any issues with adjustment with the standard or after market rear sets worked fine.
The only thing I would say it took a long time to make it a reflex reaction in changing gears you know not having to think about it.
The good thing in learning the race pattern is if you make a mistake down shifting for a corner say all you will do is be reaching for a higher gear no problem
Where you get in to trouble is after becoming R/P converted and jump on the street shift which I did at E/C track on a mates gixxer heading out of turn 2
and for those that don't the turn its' a quick flick change of direction into turn 3 so comming out of turn 2 I went to short shift to 3rd and pushed down and of coarse found first gear which just about spatt me off so the consequences are ten fold going back to a reagular shift
All that said I really enjoy the race pattern now on the street and race bike and will never go back is it worth perservering with I would say it took me the best part of 2 years riding with a lot of mistakes along the way I would have to say it is.
(It just feels better ) IMHO
