idoling problems

hey guys i have a question about an idoling issuse with my busa

QUESTION :
1. when rideing its fine but when you stop it holds the revs at about 2000 rpm for several seconds and then slowly idols back to normal ,


ANSWERS
2. could this be due to the cables being dry ?

WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR
3. i have take the throttle tube out and cleaned and lubed it but i didnt lube the cables .


thanks guys just not sure what my next step is , any help is apprecaited

Does your throttle snap back when you open it (even without the engine running?)

no its not pan , maybe i should lube the cables and see how i go ,

Check your return cable isn't broken.

I wouldn't lube them imho....

Remove the cables and try turning the throttle bodies by hand and see the result.

good stuff will be giving that a go as well . thanks legend and should i use and grease on the throttle tube ??

I dont think you ever lube the cable - these are built for lube free use.

did some work guys and shes all good and very snappy throttle now which is good ,

thanks heaps for all your advice and help guys it was a sticky return cable it had some crap built up , pulled it out got some compressed air and blew out some crap and now i have a nice snappy throttle

seeing how the bike sat around for a few yrs theres a few things that are freeing up on the bike now
