Fairing grills

Kylie, this thread acted as a reminder for me, so today I finally did my grills (Gen 1)

I had bought the ready-cut eBay kit (I think it was around $40 delivered). It came with all the mesh bits cut to size and bent to shape. It included Araldite glue and rubber gloves!

All up it took me around 1 hour to do the grills, though I didn't do the tail piece today...

Is it killing you that the lower mesh in the photo is not as vertically aligned as the upper mesh? (the rows of apertures I mean...that's the holes.........that would tear the fork out of my nightie)

Thanks for the info!! I wasn't sure to witch to use as there are few different ones and as you know if you use the wrong one you just got to do it all again and I just hate redoing things.

Hey mate even go to you're local hardware and get bostic urethane and if they fall off or corrode I'll buy you some new ones
araldite I thought it went out with dads 100 mph tape and fencing wire but he does luv his latest model hot glue gun

That looks great Pan, I have bit the bullet and purchased the pre made from the states. I have my 12000km service coming up so will get them done all at the same time. :)

Well I suppose I better pull my finger out and put in my grills that I've had since I bought my busa. I reckon they look great Pan.

When you fit the grills,mix some micro balloons with the epoxy.Model aircraft filler we use gives it body [ like powded glass beads].Epoxy is not strong on its own.Then abit of silicon in places.cheers.

Well I did put the grills on my left side Fairing. But they must have been bent in transit. I had to stuff around trying to reshape the grills. But I did get them so close but used a bit of timer to run under the grill with a screw through the grill to pull them into place. So I'll let the Sikaflex 252 go off and see how the sit then.
I'll post a picture after I know that the Sikaflex is gone off.

Had another look at them... Doesn't look wrong when you see it up close. The mesh follows the shape of the fairing... just looks odd from the angle of that photo.
