Tail light BackOff-XP system
#1
Hi guy's,

Has any one fitted a system like this that when you put the brake light on it will flash for 3 times and then 1 long and then 3 times.
It's called BackOff-XP system. Because we get hit up the rear with some ass holes I was thinking about a system like this. In the US they already have it and was thinking about butting it on my Busa.
Picture of the item that makes it work and only $39.95 US.

Sounds like the goods Jon, saw a Harley with it a couple of weeks ago here in Mackay. Wonder how it goes legally?

Good find mate Pi_thumbsup Is that a replacement for the original or just an additional one?

Motorcycles that have LED lighting must purchase the BackOFF XP. The BackOFFxp will work with BMW motorcycles with the CanBus System.

The BackOFF XP has two modes, the first, in which the brake light flashes 4 short and then 1 long (3.5 seconds), and repeats this pattern as long as the brakes are held. In the second mode, the brake light flashes 5 short and then remains steady on as long as the brakes are held. The BackOFF XP will work with LED lights. The BackOFF XP is legal in all 50 states. However, due to state regulations, which require a specific flashing pattern, California residents must use User Selected Mode 2.

I do thye same my self, But I was going to make some think that would make my brake light flash. So I just thought I would check on the internet to see if any thing was around and found the backoff. For $39.95 US I'm going to buy one and put it on because some times I forget to give a few taps, more so if I'm up on a hill.
If not illegal I don't care, they can only say remove it as I will put pull switch some where just in case.
Thanks John

In the second mode, the brake light flashes 5 short and then remains steady on as long as the brakes are held.

This mode might attract less attention.

Funny, when I found it on ebay the price was $39.95 now you check it and it's $40.95 USD. He's put it up a $1.00.

Yes mode 2 is not for me. I will check it all out more.

This is a great idea when u are in heavy peak-hour traffic, no doubting that!
But I'll guarantee you that every single one of your regular riding buddies will wanna punch you in the face during, and after, every close ride together!!! Pi_freak

First I want to say that I would also install a on/off switch so i can turn the system on/off and all I am trying to do is let the guy behind me SEE me not hit me up the rear.

I've read on this forum about a guy getting hit up the rear end at traffic lights and others getting hit also well. Even on a video. That is why I wanted to ask if any one had put a system like this on a bike. Push bikes now have red rear lights that flash and even there front light. So why not a motor cycle but with on/off switch.

If any of my riding buddies would want to punch me in the face, do you think I'm going just sit on my bike and let it happen. Get away.
Thanks John
