Well the radiator has sprung a leak from the repair...it lasted less than 400klms...for those who don't know I had a stone pop a tube in the damn thing about a month ago. I don't think its as bad judging from the amount of coolant on the fairing and later when I got home I pulled the rad guard clear and took a close look see...it is just weeping from around where the original leak was.

I have decided to try one last time to fix this... I will do it myself this time. I removed the fins from the area front and back so I now have a larger area to work on. Using swiss files I was able to clean the area and rough it up a little to provide a key. The tube is damaged from the stone chip and as there are no fins around it I should be able to use some 'Knead It' metal....(Selleys) removing the fins will allow me to mould an entire layer front to back over the offending damaged area of radiator tube. I am going to make some new fins from alfoil...I kid you not it is about the same thickness as Suckzuki use...an alternative is the ally seal on a can of coffee...slightly thicker.
I plan to make my fins slightly smaller than the gap between the tubes...5mm. Mould the 'Knead It" to the damaged area and then insert my new fins into position front and rear. Once the compound sets it will hold my new fins in place and no one will ever know...well apart all who read this that is!! Will take some pics of before and after.

I have a spare radiator here at home if your repair fails mate.
I have done a similar thing to a dirtbike radiator, but not using Knead it. I used epoxy, and created a dam, and poured it into the area to be fixed. Worked a treat!

[attachment=11763][attachment=11764][attachment=11765][attachment=11766]Well after cursing the entire Japanese nation and questioning the marriage of their parents I had to remove the radiator....reason was I couldn't get the bloody Knead it into the cleared area...it would not stick to the radiator but stuck to my fingers perfectly. Radiator out I tried to get this stuff to stick...wouldn't stick at all. I cleaned up the area and tried several times to get it to form a seal but to no avail. I then tried sealant and a small ally cover over that. I don't think this will work and am now going to get some of that silver seal you guys mentioned. Failing this I will try epoxy if this fails a large hammer may be the next tool to use. I took some photo's of the fins I made and the hole I formed by removing the original fins...should be attached. Max It may be a matter of days before I take you up on your offer...still hope the repair I did will hold...but I will always be wondering... when?

Wardy is right you'know, if you'd left that piss-poor excuse for beer alone and concentrated on your Jack Daniels drip, you'd have had it fixed by now!

Which knead it ? there is a radiator and fuel tank repair that will work on the wet surface , others will need it sanded back and chemicaly clean to stick,
another option would be to ask a refrigerator repair shop if they can aluminium braise with low temp alloys, often used in there trade , sort of stuff you can weld coke cans with and sometimes sold at swap meets ..
or plan c would be to rinse and dry the internals open the hole enough to squeeze in some silicone then pinch the hole closed and wait 24 hrs before use
Ok RYDRZ you convinced me I will pop that stuff in as well as leave the silicone plus bent ally cover on it and see what happens.....Max a pm will probably be coming your way but don't hold your breath...lol and for those who claim the consumable lubricant was of the wrong type...it would be followed by a genrous chaser of Capt Morgans best jamacian!!! lol.....

Three days later and the silcone should have hardened up so I fitted the radiator back on filled it up burped it then ran the motor for about two minutes which was all it took for the green pee to occure. bugger bugger bugger....off to Repco for some silver seal stopped off at three other places on the way and not sold there or run out....got back put the whole tube in ran the motor the green pee continued...and continued and continued once a large green puddle was on the floor I gave up on it. In anger I cleaned the area up took the stupid bent ally off and cleared all the silicone away and savagely crammed some mixed knead it in the hole...at this stage all attempts to make it look like new were out the window. I hosed all the excess green pee off and left it overnight. Today I ran my motor untill the fan kicked in and not a sign of the dreaded green pee...I let it cool and did it again to make sure..still no pee. I put my fairing back on and ran it again still no pee...took it for a short run and well no green pee...an "I couldn't give a rats arse attitude" ended up being the one that fixed it. Moral of the story??? buy an air cooled bike lol!. I did end up tapping the two holes where the fairing fits near the steering stem due to one of Suckzukis crappy fairing clip things breaking and fitting two stainless steel socket cap button bolts...thats what they call them anyway....wonder how long radiator repair will last??
