Next adventure, Simmo, Bruce and Heidi (and maybe a guest star)

I've cut and pasted this from the WA thread so Simmo doesn't hijack their thread while he is drinking.

All along we've been planning to hop across to WA for their busa bash (18-21 Nov), then be back in time for Tathra (2-4 Dec) with the eastern siders. But then we got another variable, a chance to do two track days at Phillip Island with RATS (14-15 Nov). It will be almost impossible to get across to WA in the time we have, but that's just how we like a plan, dodgy as all get out with a high potential for fuckups.

It is 1000kms to Phillip Island from Sydney via Canberra. We take Bruce's truck down to PI and do the two trackdays on various trackys with busas in the truck. We leave PI after the trackday on the 15th and drive through the night to Adelaide (865kms). One drives, one talks one or two sleep (if we end up with a bloody kwaka bringing up the rear).

We leave the truck with Greeny in Adelaide and get on busas (or dodgy-arse Kwakas if you must). From there we have two and a half days to do 2700kms to Baldavis WA to meet up with the SA mob. We arrive 18 Nov and meet the WA mob at the resort and play with them until 21 and head home via Adelaide, spending one night at Greeny's on the way home in case the SA mob want to throw us a BBQ. We don't have to go like the clappers on the way home, but we will be back in time for .......................

Tathra 2/3 and 4 Dec.

It is one hell of an adventure, track work, long distance riding, busa club bashes on two sides of the continent.... wonder how we can fit in some drag racing? A friend has suggested that is what the Nullabour is for! I want to camp on the Nullabor this time around, it was too cold last time!

I know a short cut from Norseman to Wave rock and then to the WA southwest. Saves about 6 hours from the trip, its 380k's of good dirt. We all know the busa was designed for dirt.

Two dirt roads come from the west to join the north - south, Coolgardie - Norseman - Esperance, main road: the Lake King - Frank Hahn National Park road south of Norseman, and the Hyden - Johnston Lakes road north of Norseman. The latter is quite remote but easy going for four wheel drives although potentially very boggy in the Johnston Lakes region after rain.

Its a bit dusty in the car







But will be fun on the bikes. Lets make this interesting

WHOO HOO!! Rev004 has sent some suggestions, he thinks we can get ourselves to Esperance without too much trouble (he doesn't know us yet). These are his suggestions;
Here's a rough idea on K's from Norseman.

Norseman to Esperance - 180 k's
Esperance to Ravensthorpe - 180 k's
Ravensthorpe to Albany - 290 k's
Albany to Pemberton - 200 k's
Pemberton to Karri Valley Resort 20 k's

So if you didn't get to Esp by Friday the 18th you will have approx 850 - 900 k's to the resort.

If you can get to Esperance you'll have a relaxing 650 - 700 k's.

Going by your timeline Heidi it definately looks do-able.

Now you have a plan, its time to build the contingency effort for the "what if's".
Whoops, thats just the offshore component coming out in me.....Murphy's Law applies always.

We are BANDITS for the 'what if'. When we did the lap, we had three planning sessions (that all ended badly). In the end we decided you can overthink these things, so we just went. There is three of us (maybe four, don't think you are getting out of it Kwaka boy), that is our safety margin. If something happens, two stay, one goes for help.

Credit cards, clean undies (for some of us), we are SET!

Hey Rod, we have to have somewhere safe to leave Bruce's truck with the trackys in it because we are doing a TWO DAY TRACKDAY as part of our trip. There is no SOFT in that pansy boy! Greeny has offered to mind the truck for us, but now he is making noises like we should leave the keys with him. I suspect there is a sneaky track day in the planning stages in SA.
