Pilot power 2ct
#1
Just fitted a 190/55 series pp 2ct to the Gen 2 and after a blast up gingers on the weekend I wiil definately not go back to the 50 series. Have run plenty of 2cts before but the increase in profile suits the gen 2. Ran it at 34 psi cold. Just my thoughts, Paul.

Yeah, better lateral grip without hanging off the bike so far. Much more supple in the arse. Sort of got the best of both worlds at the moment. I set the back end up a bit hard so as the bike would handle well 2 up. With the 50 series the bike then kicked a bit when solo with my 75 kg frame. The 55 series at 34 psi seems to add this extra dimension to the suspension. Much more compliant with no reduction in lateral grip. No real obvious loss of punch from the increase in diametre. I did the same mod to my k61000 and it improved the bike a little but it really suits the gen2. Added bonus was tipping the bike forward slightly made it more flickable in the tight stuff. I really am not into the looks of bikes compared to the performance but when looking from the side the 55 fills the back end better. No more 50 series for me. Paul.

I to like and prefer the 55's only down side there's not to much out there in a long wearing tyre
in 55's mainly 50's I suppose it's all a trade off at the end of the day.
Just bought a set PP2ct's from the the US $304 to my door if I bought two sets $282
Sounds like you have to much preload going on there Paul suspention to suit you would be a good investment maybe something with an adjustable preload if your jumping from one to two up a lot.

Hey Driller, any chance of a link to the tyre supplier? I have been getting the PP2cts pretty cheap but not that price. As far as the rear suspension goes I deliberately run the rear spring with 2 turns of extra preload for 2 up riding. Still quite workable 1 up. As you know the adjuster rings are a bugger to get at on the gen 2. Paul.

There was a guy on a GSXR on the Nymboida run this year (sorry mate, can't remember your name) who had a Pilot Road 3 on the front end and he was extremely happy with it.

Thanks for the link. If you are interested I have started buying my EBC hh pads through a mob called raging moto on e-bay. About $55 for complete front set. If you buy pads in 4 caliper lots ie, 8 pads, shipping is a flat rate of $15.95. Dan Mayer is the fellow to speak to. Hope this helps. Paul.

No I have not. Only just started using the HHs. What are the pros and cons for the extremes? Paul.
