Anyone tried using 100-110 LL Av fuel in their Busa, is it O.K. to use or

is remapping etc req'd.

Why ?
Unless you have a highly modified bike that needs a higher octaine fuel there is no advantage
and i suspect it would need mapping to suit ,

Definitely mapping, had an XB GT 4V, 4 door years ago that was tuned for it back in the early 90's and she went like f*#$. Friends that had XU1 Toranas, fast bikes back then , and other assorted chariots used to be in awe the way this thing went. But untuned there was not much difference.

Thanks for the responses fellas.

I'm after a bit more specific info if anyone has it.

I believe that if I use it in standard tune I will lose power

and foul plugs.

If I remap, especially timing, I can run more advance as the

higher octane rating will handle it without the risks of detonation

that would occur with regular fuels.

Has anyone got any experience with this?

I have an original Power Commander and from memory ignition

timing is not adjustable with it.

Is timing adjustable with later versions, assuming mixture etc...

would all have to be set up to suit on a dyno?

Does anyone have generic maps or info to suit this fuel?

Maj has pretty well covered it. As for loading a generic map .................. you may as well not even bother as the chances of it being right are about as good as the tattslotto dream.
Is the fuel your thinking of using oxygenated ? In which case it will probably lean the A/F.
The higher octane will help prevent pre ignition but if your going to play a knock sensor may be a good investment.
Had a play with ignition timing on a salt racer the other day and found the best part about advancing a few degress was we could get the same power with a richer / safer A/F Pi_thumbsup
Ideal for a motor thats going to be run at WOT for extended lengths of time.

Thanks Pete,

Not sure if it's oxygenated? It's just the standard G.A. fuel you can

get at any airport.

I can get the stuff pretty much for free, so was basically wondering

what I had to do to run it. Seems like it might be too much hassle.

Cheers Graeme.

Note that 100LL is 'low lead' not unleaded. So if you are still running the standard CAT its a no-no.

True, more a general comment for any others thinking of using it.
