satin sheet
#1
Opened the shed up last sunday and slid the satin sheet off my beautiful toy all still looking like brand new,put on my gear(hornee jeans, rocket boots, good gloves and good kbc helment)making sure my back pack did not touch the back seat cowl to leave any marks. After spotting a few wallabies on the Putty rd some kay before the halfway shop and its only about 8.00 am I decided to take it easy and nothing over the speed limit to help spot danger and my mate on his duke did the same behind me and I even saw wallabies that were not there.About 7 kay the nth side of the halfway shop doing a 100 kay there was something furry right at my front wheel,I did not even see it arrive there,3 minutes later I wake up near the double yellow lines with a few people around me but I why am I here and who are these people,I just want to wake up from this dream thats getting painful and then I saw my mate and I clicked. After a while I looked left sth on the putty rd and about 50 metres was a dead wallaby and to my right 50 metres away a (sob) dead busa.

My mate was able to pull up ok and said no way I could have avoided the wallaby it was to quick,he said I had an almighty tank slapper then the busa stated spinning through the air and bouceing off the road sideways not end to end. I ended up in a chopper to john hunter hosp but back home on thursday and lucky to escape with only 2 broken ribs and many grazers,The busa looks bad, both wheels are bent and rim missing in parts and there was oil down the road and seems a crack near the starter.Front guard.mirrors, blinkers, rear cowling, tail lights, master cylinders, screen all ripped off,big ding in tank, both pipes no good.Every part of the bike has been damaged except the headlight and it still works.I was insured so will see what happens, but I will be wearing better gear next time because you dont know when,//////dave

Sounds like your a lucky man Davecrowley. Glad to hear your ok.
Sounds a bit like a new one coming up hey ?
I hit a roo a couple of years back ( not on a Bussa ), was total luck that the bike stayed upright.
Scared the daylights out of me.

Mate, You are still in one piece and fully funcional. That is the most important Pi_thumbsup The bike looks like a write-off, but just between us the Gen 2 is better looking anyway Scary Good luck with your insurance and keep us posted on developments.

Davecrowley, thank goodness you are okay and as others have said you are still here to ride another day and I bet your family are thrilled to bits with that too. Bikes can be replaced and yes another biased Gen II supporter here, the bike can be replaced. Take good care with your recovery and the time to heal.

Shit Dave, that's really scary, glad you're still in the land of the living. Hope you heal quickly, and get your beloved fixed / or replaced.

I saw a big Roo about 50 metres jump across the front of me the other day, scared me big time, even though it wasn't very close at all. If one jumped out beside you/or into you, there's nothing you could do.

I'd say you're bloody lucky.
