Droped my Busa
#1
I park and go for lunch and come back to find my Busa was droped and then picked and parked ( didn't fall on the stand side) scratches on the faring and broken foot peg.

What should i do as I do have comp insurance - kinda pissed

I'd report it to the police. You may just get lucky and they may be able to get camera footage of the lowlife that did it. I'm presuming you already asked anyone around if they saw what happened. Sounds like some dopey headed pricks gone to park there only looking for a car and come in to fast and hit your bike. I always think this would happen to me to. Lucky I haven't had to use a space yet...

Firstly Bill >>> u've got every right to feel (kinda?) pissed, mate....that really sucks when a/holes damage ur ride, and then don't even have the decency to leave a note with their contact details for insurance purposes! Frown

Secondly >>> I personally would be going on a HUNTING mission, and I wouldn't cease until I have exhausted EVERY possible avenue! Knuppel2

Are there ANY CCTV camera's positioned anywhere near where u park ur bike that may give u a clue as to the IDENTITY of this morally-bankrupt individual???

Is there any paint residue at all from another vehicle left on ur bike??? (there is a chance that the person responsible may need to park in this area on a daily or semi-regular basis....definately worth keeping an eye out for!)

Any witnesses??? (A poster with a pic of ur bike and some incident and contact details left somewhere close to the incident area may encourage a witness to come forward and provide u with enough info to track down this piece of scum)

Lastly, only if all the above does not help bring the responsible party forward....I would be making a claim on my own insurance (...is the damage worth making a claim, re: excess???)

Good luck....let us know how u go with it,

There are few scratches on the right side both on black and gold portion. footpeg is broken (where the longish bolt fits in), there is a small scratch on the muffler - no markings on the handlebar end weights or the mirrors. It seems that someone tried to either sit on the bike or move it and lost balance.....:(, God bless the soul. I dont like scratches on my bike hence I am either going to source the panel or just claim it. Only worry is that it may raise my premium....

When I read the subject I thought "why aren't people more careful with their bikes!"
Then I read the rest. Bloody oath you should be pissed!! Knuppel2 What a nightmare! Hope you find the bugger and get them/or their insurance to pay.

If it wasn't your fault there's no reason why everything scratched shouldn't be replaced! and a few scatches can lead to a big insurance bill.

Rod,
Don't get me wrong I am still pissed. But my Busa is not more important then anyone's life/health.
If I meet the person, I will give him/her my piece of mind and I will also check if they are ok ;(.

Hi Bill, sorry yo hear that the Busa's been dropped. Simliar thing happened to me, where I parked the busa and when I came back the bike had been dropped and stood back up. Fortunately the guy was caught and charged, got 12 months prison, (not his first offence). the insurance company copped the whole thing no exess and no increase on my premiums. Bike repair costs were 3800 so worth going through insurance.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune,
had a car back over mine and drive off.
lucky there was a Suzuki swift there for it to fall on.
Still bent the peg assembly, twisted forks and scratched the old
fairing, not happy especially when the Swift owner
tried to claim from my insurance!
Feel your pain!
