I wonder if #3 is on it's way.

I haven't had an off for over 10yrs & all of a sudden I've been off twice in the last 8wks.

1) During the brisbane floods. Doing about 35klm/hr trying to get home from work. Bucketing down rain. Couldn't see too well. Flood water on the road & went straight in.
Went down & did about $1800 of damage.

2) Saturday (2 days ago) morning went for a short ride with my 16yo daughter up to Mt Glorious for breaky. Stopped at the 'T' intersection at the top. She doesn't like going toooo fast or leaning toooo much so I took off slow & turned right.
Went about 6" too wide & the rear just caught the wet leaves at the edge of the main tire trak on the bituman. The back went straight out.

Luckily we went down on the same side as before. The insurance is a bit slow & I haven't had the damage from the first one fixed yet.

Maybe I should wait for #3 to happen first before I get it fixed.. Confused

How are you and your daughter after the fall?

Unlucky, but lucky.

- maybe you should drop it once more on that side (on some nice soft grass) then you'll be right for he next 10 years. Lol3

Hope you haven't scared / or scarred the daughter too much.

We're OK. thanks guys.

I got a little scratch on my knee. (sort of like a carpet burn) from the inside of the clothing.
My daughter got an abrasion on her lower back. I think from the gearsack rack as she came off. It somehow lifted the back of her jacket & got her on the back.

She layed on the ground for about 2mins just taking in what had happened. Then she jumped up, got back on & we kept going.

The faring is scratched up a fair bit more. I broke the end of the front brake lever & the RHS pipe was very slightly bent in closer to the rear wheel.
Nothing that won't be fixed in the insurance claim of the last off. :)

Cheers BJ, but unfortunately it wasn't on soft grass.. (I wish) :( Was on the good old bituman.
Those flamin wet leaves are very slippery.

So glad to hear that both and your daughter are okay and she was able to get back straight back on with her dad. As you say insurance can pay for the bike.
