Hi all,
Just thought I'd put it put there as I'll be heading down to the drags for Whoopass Wednesday on the 2nd March to test out the bike now that I have run it in. If anyone is thinking about heading down as well then let me know so I can meet a few people from this forum.

Hey Clint did you end up going down or not, if so what time did you manage or did you get cleaned up. Apparently there's young 16-17 year old kid (Jack) that I know and is running a ZX12 that broke into the high 9's the other night and now he's not allowed back until he's got a racing licence well tha't's what his mum was telling me anyway. Anyway find out next time I'm talking to him.

Hey Kev its tomorrow. I'm all set and ready to roll. Bike's serviced and dynoed this past week. I reckon if I can get a reaction time of less than 1 second I'll get a time of less than 10.5. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know how I went.

Reaction time will have no effect on ur E/T... the clock doesn't start ticking until u actually break the beam & start moving.

My son Chris will be there and at the Westernnats this weekend. He is on a plane to Perth as I type. He put his Hayabusa in the Bray family truck and they have taken it to Perth for him (with a few other bikes frpm Qld). He loves his bike and his racing.
He is the young bloke (that needs a haircut) on the matt black Busa if you see him.
Ken I might go down on the weekend as well, as a spectator. Looks like he can make a good start. If I can make a smooth start, Im sure it wont be a big launch like that but if I can get off the line without having to back off the throttle then I'm sure I'll do well. If R/T doesnt count against your time I hope for a 10 or less is that realistic without having a super launch, I dont know..
Will find out soon :)

Not if its your first time, theres alot more to drag racing than just pinning it in a strait line, go real easy on your first run atleast, track conditions are nothing like a local streets, u should get easy 11's then as u get better at it, u will drop into the mid to low 10's, just dont be disapointed with your first few runs, no one does a blistering fast first run
I havnt raced my busa yet, but iv been racing a few hotted up 1000's over the last few years, and my times range anywere from low 10's to 13's the runs dont always go to plan, and its harder to launch than some think, most important part is u have fun and keep trying

Chris is there tonight and I have spoken to him a few times today. He has had 8 runs today with a best of 9.69. Motor is stock but it is has lowering links and 6 inch extensions. I think his best stock height and length with Yoshi cans was 9.97 so anything is possible with a bit of practice Blackbusa.

I just got back and my god that was frustrating! My first run was 11.550 but it felt really good. Then I shaved .6 off that on my second run and I was stoked. I thought my next run would be 10.5 for sure but I only managed 10.890 at 136mph/220kph that was my best time. I got three more runs in two 10.9s and an 11.2. I got to improve somewhere, probably my starts.
Oh, by the way Ken I didn't see Chris' matt black busa there tonight or I would have said hi.
