Gauges are easy to calibrate just tee them all together and put them under about 10inches of vacuum then set them the same. Unless they are non-adjustable of course. Petes turbo project<i></i>

Peter, with mercury tubes properly damped the butterflies can be sync'd to within a few mm's. Gauges to within an inch if ya lucky and then there is the issue of hysteresis with old bourdon tubes in mechanical gauges.

It all makes a difference in the end and often its a compromise

I have 2 sets -- One set I made some 25 years ago ( blown from Pyrex ) when I had my XS1100 and the other set I bought in the Uk when I lived there. I'll dig up the details on the purchased set over the weekend, as I still have the original box and instructions.
This set is fairly compact and easy to use Volvi. <i></i>

I'd like to get my grubby hands on a set too, more accurate as Gazza points out.

Hardly worth the expense and the trouble finding/buying a set. Seriously how often do you need to balance them? Yep! every dyno tune.................................The End

Its the same company Volvi , however mine use Mercury... comes complete with a small syringe to expell the air bubbles from the tubes.
Maybe Mercury has hads its day,,,and now its an OH&S issue these days. Maybe its simply economics. <i></i>

On their web site they mention the design criteria for the Mark 2 version -- "had to be Mercury free" ... maybe there lies the answer and potentially with shipping to. <i></i>

I am currently doing my TPS and am coming across this situation. When adjusting it to -(centre) on dash resistance reads low like 1.9 and 4.05 (thats the numbers it was currently set on) when shud be around 1.3 and 4.5. So which one is better to follow the resistance as on multimeter or from dashboard?

FF1 indicated the meter is best to follow but if I were to adjust it to that reading it takes the rotation of tps to max. so not sure which is best way, any tips please greatly appreciated.

After this i will tackle the throttle bodies with my new gizmo. <i></i>

Volvi the dash method is as rough as guts .............. but it sounds like your measuring resistance ???? It's voltage you measure at the tps not resistance

doh right you are. input v. was 5.05 output closed 1.22 open 4.44 shud be 1.1 and 4.5, I'll see tomorrow if can get the numbers closer, wont rely on poxy dash method......dealers switch for sale, ermm mean paper clip.... <i></i>
