HI Guys,
After much consideration(came into my head last night and then told the wife I'm going to do something selfish), I have decided to ride around this great counrty somethme early 2012. I am looking to do it in about 6-8weeks.

Ok the route will be something like this...
Sydney/Melbourne/Hobart/Melbourne/Adelaide/Uluru/Darwin/Broome/Perth/Esperance/Adelaide/Broken Hill/Longreach/Townsville/Cairns/Brisbane/Sydney.
A little bit of a figure 8 type thing.
Thoughts?

Big trip is my thoughts. 20000kms min.
A mate and I agreed to follow Highway 1 around the country in 3 yrs, just for the hell of it!!
Good luck with the plans!

A trip around Oz on a Busa is something I've dreamed about doing for quite a while.
I'll get there eventualy but nothing planned. Who knows, Maybe 2012 might be the year for me too?

sounds like a great plan.
Maybe take into consideration summer / winter etc when traveling?

I have told my partner that I intend on doing a solo in 3 years time from Adelaide to Darwin via Ularu, then acroos to Brisbane, then home to Central Coast.
That will be my 45th Birthday pressy to myself, Solo and free.......Gee I am shaking thinking about it......

when you do go ahead with it if you need somewhere to stay or maybe even a local tour guide just let me know and we can arange something

Just go, don't think it through too much. Take half the gear you think you will need, a motorcycle atlas and your credit card. Organise a oil filter and some oil at the halfway mark. You'll be right.

Met a couple doing a ride on a bike across oz when we were down at the apostles/ sisters, they were enjoying it. just rain would worry me, recently here we've had a fair bit, hate to be riding in it.

Big+1! long way round is always being watched at my house.
I bought this Busa to travel around oz-then went and spent a mint on it, so now I'm savin for a gen1 to do it on! Can't bring myself to defile my black beauty...
