It is too bad the NSW Police Force are not taught "Do not be an ars*hole".
It is not part of their training. The idiot that wrote the legislation will not change it.

Damn, I missed it! Hopefully Mark from Lawstop can get this charge dismissed, because it's not only the monetary fine, but the demerit points off Tex's license. Personally I think it should be impossible to charge a motorcyclist with Neg Driving. Face it, if you're negligent you're gunna fall off! So if you're laying under the machine, or you've gone spearing off through the mulga, fair enough.... but riding with a dog on the tank I'd say you've gotta be concentrating more than any other road user out there. Now, how is that negligent?? Best of luck with your day in court Tex, if it should go that far. Let's hope it doesn't.

+1 I have never heard of anyone having an accident with dog on their bike, it used to be fairly common up here to see cockys on their dirtbikes, no more. All they have done here is another money grab to the detriment of a deserving charity. Yeb sent my disgust thru to Sunrise heres hoping with adverse publicity sense may prevail!
My hat goes off to Tex 1.2 million kilometres with a dog on the bike without an accident, maybe then it should be compulsory! Some kunz fall off in the first few k's going round the block, give em a dog I say!

Why don't all Sydney members buy a toy stuffed dog, whack it on the tank and ride around for a bit in the same area that Tex was booked? Doesn't matter if ya can't see ya speedo coz there's too many bloody road signs to look at and too many idiot car drivers texting on their phones to worry about!
