Last night a mate got flashed by a Holden Rodeo Ute. Had toolboxes, bullbar on the front, canopy just looked like a tradies ute and a friggin speed camera in it. No sign at the front like the marked ones either. He wasnt sure so went back to check. Cottesloe Road on the Gold Coast. Apparently ( I didnt see it but he did) there was an item n the news about them putting cams in wheelie bins and witches hats. there was two ex cops on the prgramme saying dispute all your speeding tickets as there are a lot of now inaccurate due to poorly calibrated camera's, incorrectly positioned camera's etc. Getting to the point where your'e breaking the law as soon as you leave the house in a morning.
I know mate it's ridiculous.
They have us thinking there's a camera in every nook and cranny of the world.
Makes it very hard to have fun. I'm being driven to anarchy and conviction.

I spend a lot of time driving round the Gold Coast cos of my job, and an increasing amount of that time is spent looking at the speedo as opposed to looking at the road. I've had more close calls with pedestrians and skateboarders crossing infront of me while I'm not looking at the road than enough. It's only a matter of time before someone is gonna get skittled over.
i cant see "I was checking my speedo at the time of the accident" is gonna wash with the magistrate either

The speedo in my car has a function that makes it flash and beep as soon as you hit the programmed speed.
Only thing is that's it's only good for a single setting. Maybe the manufacturers need to start making a multi
programmable speedo that gives an audiable warning at 60,80 & 100.
It's as anoying as all f*** when it goes off, but you definately know your speeding.

Dunno where you originate from mate but here the speed limits will change 3 times in couple of hundred metres. Last ticket I got was for doing 84 in an 80 zone and was being over taken by a forensics cop van at the time. No leeway whatsoever now for speedo innacuracies, its up to you to prove your speedo's out, then you get a ticket for an unroadworthy veh cos your speedo is innacurate cos Anna Bilge has decided that digital speedo cams cant be wrong. Having a serious sense of humour failure over the ridiculous petty laws and restrictions here. I'd wager it would be pretty difficult for the average person to drive to work without breakin a law on the way. Another example on the Gold Coast. They are trying their hardest to attract holiday makers, but you cant have a beer with your barby on the beach in public, now you cant have a party in your holiday accomodation, and if you get your tits out at Indy (GC 400 or whatever it is now) then Wo betide you. You can go into the local servo with your kids and have tits hanging out all over the magazine rack but you cant get em out 10 stories up in the air. Soddin ridiculous the way things are going. I despise the French cos I'm a Pom but at least they know how to make their feelings felt when they are being crapped on by the powers that be. We seem to to just sit back, whinge like buggery and then do nothing. What does it take to get people galvanised into making a stand. How many buttf***s does it take before people turn on the authorities and say enough is enough ????
Rant over

Same unit (and it's black) was sitting on the top of Black Mountain on the Sunshine Coast last night around 6 pm making a fortune as it was situated just after the uphill climb flattens out and runs back into one lane. Most cars accelerate to get past the trucks before it goes to one lane.
Buy a CB radio ...................... best radar detector you can get as you know where they are before you get there.

i make 'forsale' realestate type signs etc...
Wonder if I could make a "Speed camera 50m on left" sign... Have a couple in the boot for when i see one. go back and put it on the side of the road.
Surely that would be legal... i'm slowing drivers down... therefore i must be saving lives at the expense of lowering revenue... ok..maybe highly illegal if revenue is being cut out of govn pockets.
