So often and some times also sadly it is what effects our deepest of emotions that leads to the sweetest of words. Feeling your sorrow with the words you have written is indeed testament to you having been able to transfer your emotions to words. Your son still now is an inspiration in your life, and rest assured you do not mourn alone in his passing.
I also give thought to the many others who lost some one close on this same day and whom are still on the long journey of rebuilding their lives.
I understand your pain and maybe these few words hereunder will help you as they do to me.
I hope that all the happy moments you had with your child will fill and flood your mind every hour of every day as those are the things one needs to hold onto.Be strong,not for you cause that will seem impossible at times but for the memory that will go on living with you forever.
You are still moving one year on, I have no doubt he would be proud of you.
My thoughts are with you.

Righteous words of a loving father.
Let me tell you something that has occurred as a result of your loss Mark.
I have a son aged 16 going on 17. He has brought the police to the door a few times last year and we are now waiting for a Court date. He is under an immediate expulsion order if he does the shit he was doing last year and the year before that. We have had tears and much anger in the house as a result of his actions. His name is Alexander.
I now hug him each night before he goes to bed and tell him how much I love him. We have no idea how long we will have our kids and the ache in my heart for you is the knowledge of what a single hug would bring to you.
We feel your pain and admire your resolve. You have my respect and admiration for being where you are. To echo Heidi your son will be proud of both of you.
