when I bought my bike it already had Helibars on it, coming from a GSX1400 it was still a bit of a lean. I bought a riser block from Soupies in the US and fitted it. The bike seems to be steering a bit slower since I put it on. The riding position is more comfortable with both the Helibars and riser but I reckon its slower in the steering, is it all in my head or would the extra height effect the handling, cheers Steve.

I have the Soupy's riser and I don't think my steering is any slower.

I imagine it WOULD change the handling. If you're sitting more upright, the weight distribution on the bike would be different... You would probably be higher up and further back a little... Otherwise, the bike is the same.

If you are comfortable, you will go faster...
Any clearance issues with the Helis and the Soupy's block?
Are you still running stock lines?

might just have to take the block out and see if it does make any difference. I have found myself running a bit wide a couple of times now, it is easy enough to put in if I ever go for a long ride.

well I took the riser block out yesterday while I was fitting the new screen. I took her for a ride this afternoon back up Tamborine Mt via the goat track at Canungra. It is definately quicker in the steering and feels more nimble again. I dont know why it is but it is, the only drawback is the more leant over riding position. I will keep the riser block and if I plan on any long rides I can put it back, only takes about 30 mins.

you're elbows are probably more inline with the bars and likely less weight on you're hands so the steering may feel lighter.

I ended up putting it back in, dont like the extra lean without it, I will just have to get used to it not being as sharp in the steering, either that or I could drop the front forks a little, that always works.
