There are only the very barest differences between the 1st gen bikes that I know of. Nothing to do with the G'Box, cam chain tensioner recall, the 32 byt fuel brain, the tension strap for the lower fairing halves,the steel sub-frame. is there anything alse?

Don't think the gear box has anything different?

i updated my 99 gearbox to post 2003, all it means is adding 2 extra rings/plates referred to as anti jugger if memory serves me correct. have had no probs since 5 yrs back or so. check the microfish to see the diff.
