That's probably because it was the most lack-lustre election in decades, no one really gave a shit, the Labor party are copping it in the kneck for knifing K Rudd, and the best the Libs can do is bloody Tony Abbott.

Any wonder the place is quiet about the election - that plus I reckon everyone has about had a gutful of the slanging match both major parties had at each others leaders. The election wasn't really about what they could do for us, the electors, but rather, about what a shit job the opposing leaders would do.

Coalition Government in Britain is starting to crack now - they always do. I was a kid in the UK when the ;ast one happened and we went to the polls twice in somethng like 6 months, so I expect the same here. It'll be my first vote - I registered too late for this one - and it's nice to be living somewhere (for once) were a few hundred votes count. Now I be a floating voter.

I would love to read about their policy concerns, but unfortunately I lapsed into a coma just reading this thread.....sorry. Anything remotely related to politics is a boring as bat shit to me. I find it an insult that I am forced to line up like one of societies drones to have my name marked off the electoral role when the government deems it necessary, but yet they can waffle on and dribble shit for 3 years without penalty. .....sorry there is a penalty, they will be replaced by more idiots who have a different view on the same shit, but still won't deliver! If there is no-one worth casting a vote for, we (I) should not have to vote at all!

I asked the bloke on the door if i could take my voting form home he said No so i said thanks and took it with me as my Neice likes Julia and she was on my electral roll so took the form for her

The only way you could NOT give Labor's preferences to the Green was to go through the Senate paper below the line and put the greens last.
They have a stated anti-firearms policy so I will always put Greens last, where they belong! Govern the Country by all means but stay the hell out of my shed and don't tell me what I can and cannot do for sport!

I'll never vote Labor. They back the unions & even tho I'm a tradie, the unions have screwed me so many times during my working life. I will never vote for them.
The greens preferences go to Labor, so that counts them out as well.

YUP CJ I agree it's as boring as BS. It's still better than bombs going off whilst strapped to human beings and blowing up human beings. SO, now that we got that sorted, you are right, the alternatives whichever one gets in, isn't exactly going to make your spine tingle with anticipation. My initial post, mentioning the triumvirate allude to how these three actually TRY to represent the people and how this contrasts with the big party boys. I am quite inspired that such people STILL exist and am determined STILL to make a difference.

Maybe if more people actually took interest in the way this country is ran,vote and have their opinion valued instead of sitting at home on their lame ass,bitching that they can't be fcuked for whatever reason,than this would not have happened.Here in Queensland the "smart state" some very intelligent people decided that a 20 year old was good enough to elect,guide and direct them.WTF !!!!!

On the other hand, nearly everyone in QLD voted for Pauline Hanson at one point, so they can't be too dumb.
