Accommodation In Sydney

Can anyone suggest accommodation close to Acer Arena for the Metallica concert in November. The closer the better, but don't want to fork out a squillion dollars a night, nor do I want to catch a taxi for miles and miles with a driver who doesn't understan "Stop the car, you shoulda turned back there!"
Any tips appreciated.
