Do you wave?
#1
Today out on the bike I would've waved to atleast 80 bikes travelling the other way. Unfortunatley, only about half a dozen responded .Is it just me, or is it a dying fad.

Do you wave/nod ?

Lots of people nod. Especially when they notice you're riding a Busa!

It's mainly the Hardley brigade who don't do it, but who cares? I ignore them; they ignore me. I refuse to nod to anyone on a scooter, though.

I nod to scooters, bike cops, pushbikes, truck drivers, kids on trikes, posties, L platers everyone except Harleys. I don't bother any more.

Me personally, no nodding nor acknowleging Scooters or Tractors.

At the very least a fellow Japper Rider will get a nod, a Busa Rider will get a bit of a quick salute.

I nod at bikes, even when I'm driving the Volvo!
Don't care if they don't nod back. It makes me feel happy to think that I belong :-)

you guys have your reasons for not bothering with certian minority groups of riders IE: harleys n scooters , its a shame as all riders no matter what they ride are riders scooters or harleys alike , what happen to the kindness we had in the 80's n 90's where you helped all or any rider or gave a nod in respect for they rode a bike.

well i can see its lost here

Gee Heidi, your neck must hurt by the time you get to your destination Lol3 How do you go in traffic Lol2

Seriously though, when I was riding and even now as a pillion, I nod.

You're right BK, scooters & harleys are alike (I reckon scooters probably handle better though!) Lol3 Coolsmiley

By default I nod at almost all riders, and wave when it is easy enough to do so. I can and I guess you can all probably tell if someone coming the other way is of the same thinking. As a general rule Hardley/cruiser riders won't, but some do. Those that do I assume are of a biker thinking rather than bikey thinking. Those groups of tossers on Hardleys I just don't believe have the enjoyment of riding first in mind, and I don't believe they deserve the recognition of a nod or wave.

Sorry Kev, I just don't have time for groups where I believe hypocracy rules.

I always thought nodding was a highway thing, but these days I am pleasantly corrected by riders in city and suburban areas.

Pi_thumbsup Big Kev.

I wave to all and sundry, who cares what they ride. The other bike may just be a busa. I know a guy who rides a busa as a 2nd bike, his H-D Sporty is his daily.......... he says "Only ride this so I don't get done speeding"

I've caught myself nodding in the car, I always feel so silly I then have to cover it up with a goofy wave. I'm sure that helps!

hey Kev, I used to wave at EVERYONE, but the Harley riders never waved back. It took about 10 years for me to give up on them. Trust me, I persevered for a long time.

I give a peace sign to sports bikes if I can and a nod to the rest, except scooters and harleys unless they nod first. I blow a kiss to busas, and shush anyone who wags a finger at me.
