Panniers For The Busa

I'm thinking about getting a pair of panniers for the black beauty for when I take her majesty away for weekends...can anyone offer advice on what to look for, how to protect the paintwork etc...I'd prefer a soft pair (only coz the hard panniers I've seen are butt-ugly)....seen the Rjays ones online...anyone used these? I just don't like all the weight being perched on the back (the missus & luggage), thinking having it centred a bit more will make mile-munching in the twisty bits a bit easier
All opinions welcomed.

Bazman...I expect some comment regarding "a soft pair"...I'll be disappointed if you haven't got something clever to add.

for protection u might want to have a towel or something under the bags to stop them rubbing on the paintwork, or u can do what one of my friends have done and get some sort of frame made up that keeps the bags about 1-2 inches away from the side of the bike, hope this helps

best protection of all, Gaffa tape.

used it drapping soft bags over the busa and the Tillis, many thou of k's an no marks left. bit of metho to get rid of sticky mess.

Buffalo bags better than RJ,s but you might need to source em OS.

I've used wide (2"?) electrical tape under tank bags. Keeps it nice and comes off easy.

        its a pain trying to decide which is the best way to go!
anyway i decided to get a set of pannier brackets to suit givi boxs.
which i've just installed this weekend ,so i,ve just taken some photos to show you how it looks.
im reasonably happy with them but have yet to take the missus for a ride and test them out.
only critisism is that i'll have to alter the ventura rack to fit.

hey, where did you get the pannier brackets?

i have a couple of sets of givi panniers i use on the viffer. didnt think i could get brackets for the busa

yea i was pretty lucky to find out about them.
motorradgarage.com.au
i think their an import company in w.a, the bloke that i deal with at my bike shop is mates with the owner or something like that!
so my bike shop got them in for me.
cost me $440.00 or theres about.but probably cheaper dealing direct.
i didnt go that way cause the bike shop had done all the work to find them .

The Corbins are good , if you've got 2 grand to spare . Beetle bags ,I Think they call them .
