I've just registered to attend the Spyder Experience and test ride the Can-Am Spyder Roadster.
The Spyder Experience takes about two-hours, as participants can grab a coffee, are briefed on the roadster, do some basic exercises, hit the road, then chat to the Can-Am team about the experience.
It's totally free and there are plenty of locations and time slots to suit.
So register now at http://www.spyderexperience.com/
Im booked in for April 18 midday Melbourne. Looks like it could be fun.

I'm booked in for a test ride in Canberra on Sunday, May 9. I was booked in some months ago for a test in Newcastle but had to pull out of that one, can't remember why.
The reason the meeting point is at a hotel is because the first part of the test is a familiarisation course in the car park before you go out on the open road. Probably also for easy acces to tea & coffee making facilities. Obviously the Spyder handles differently to a bike- it doesn't lean for a start! There's something different about the brakes too; if I remember correctly, I think it's only got a foot brake, like in a car.

The Spyder is ok; it has it's place...but it's not a bike, no matter how much the owners would like to delude themselves.

I know a Ulysses bloke who flipped one of those after hitting a pothole ............he's going back to a bike to replace it.
Get in traffic with that thing & you might as well be in a cage...it defeats the purpose of motorcycling (IMHO).[/i]
Never ride the A model of anything.
I went on one of the Spyder Experiences here in Perth...
Was a lot of fun, it's a funny, quirky bike, and it was free...
Whats not to like.

Did a couple of test rides last year. Funny, quirkey and definitely NOT a motorcycle. The steering is all f****d up, leaning the wrong way, putting your head over the inside front wheel. Was fun though.
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!
