Licence Question...
#1
Hi Guys,

The inevitable happened and I lost my licence for excess speed, I then found out that I have also exceeded my points so there is another 3 months tacked on the end.

9 months off the road is going to kill me.

Would you take the early 2 point option at the end of the 6 months or hold out for the full compliment after the extra 3 months?
Regards,

John

speaking from experiance john i lost mine for 4 yr all up mate . yeah you read right . the thing to ask your self is can you survive on 2 points ?? seeing that you have excessive speed fines . if you can be good for the 12 mths on 2 points then i would say go for it with out hesitation as any time off the road is not good , its something to think long and hard weigh up all the options and go from there , i know you will make the right decision mate

best of luck big kev

take the full completment.

as a wife that had too drive hubs everywhere and he telling me how to drive, when to brake, what speed limit i should stick too, whilst he had lost his licence.Nearly drove me till desraction.(that was one month)
if you take the full idea then you amongst the lucky ones that have the full licence for 3 years.

My man is on 1 point for the 3 years until the others roll back. Hence he is not riding the bike as much. He served a 3 months suspension for speed, but came out with 1 point left.

He's nearly up to 2 years at least, or a bit more. Will have to call T/Dept to see how much longer he has till he gets more points back.

My experience was one point remaining after a six month walk and 800 big ones. If i didn't live out of town I certainly would blown the final point & went the 3 months to get all back. I've been on 1 point for 12 months, still have a couple months to get 3 back, that will only be 4 points for the next 15 months or so. Certainly watch the right wrist now.

Gday Big John,

The reason you lost your license in the first place was more than likely due to PULSE DOPPLER RADAR REFLECTOR ERROR and the police officer's inability to adhere to the Australian Standards for the use of such a device. In fact, you'll probably find that the police do have the photographic evidence of those RADAR REFLECTORS (road signs0 on their video when the alleged offence occurred.

The moral of the story, always travel with a hand held GPS & Camera to produce your own evidence. After all, the GPS positions will tally up same/same with the ones on the police video. In which case, you should have opted for the court election, then, you would have received a letter from the court that gives you a chance to submit your evidence. Hell, you might not have even had to go to court. They're afraid of court precidents & loosing massive amounts of revenue.
Well, it's too late now mate. Ya stuffed & you'll have to wear the 9 months. Spend that time wisely, bung a Supercharged Motor in ya Busa, either that or sell it & go on an overseas holidays for 3mths on a foreign airline & don't give those commo muthafuc*ers one red cent of ya Busa sales cash in GST. Fuc* Em !Pi_thumbsdownPolice

Is the 2 point option a one off, i.e. get 12 points for a second time and that's 3 months suspended licence with no 2 point option?

And when does the good behaviour start from? Date of offence? Or date you pay the fine?

Ta!

An "Offence" is not an "Offence" but an "Alleged Offence" until the proven in a court of law, or, Unitil the Traffic Authority receives notification from the State Date Recovery Office that the fine for the "Alleged Offence" has been paid. Once paid, it is then an "Offence".

So from the date it's paid, which means it's in my interest to pay it quickly and get it over and done with then?
