You may as well throw in 90 weight gearbox oil so it's nice n stiff so when ya cornering hard and hit a pothole, if ya lucky or bought the White Power where you could adjust it stiffer the dreaded death wobbles might not kill ya. ! READ PLEASE
As for somebody's advice on Training---Total Crap---Nobody or no god damn riding school can train ya for the "Death Wobbles".
Knowledge---yeah, it helps. Experience----#1Pi_thumbsup

I changed every damper on all my bikes to either ohlins or hype-pro after I found out how valuable they are when I copped a major wobble years ago that would have left me in a pine box at 90km/h.Anyone who implys that they are not needed or they have a limited use cause of the way they ride is an IDIOT who wasted his/her money by buying a Busa.One/some should educate themselves what the damper is there for before making unsafe ignorant statements!!!!!

I wouldn't advise anyone to get rid of their damper, but I'll still hold the opinion that we don't all ride in a way that demands them. When I'm forced to potter around at 70mph on good roads, on a bike as capable as the busa, I think there are a lot more necessary things required to keep me upright than a damper - losing 10 kilos, getting better upper body strength, riding within my limits, knowing the road surface and technical riding knowledge to name a few. Not all bikes have dampers.

When I waste your money buying a busa, you can call me an idiot. Until then, I work hard for my money and will waste it on what I like. Might even hit up Gruntmax for a damper. Grow up, there's more than one World view outside your suburb.

Let me re cap on what some idiot said:
No insurance cause he and his bike are ALWAYS SAFEIdiot2,
Most of us dont need a dampner!!!
He rides not more than 120km/ph!!!!Pi_freak
Am I nuts or did someone switch the common sense button off!!!!!!!
Ps:I lived and travelled around the globe so my opinion is out of the suburb you mentioned, have you ever left the blue mountains????????.Showback

I don't have insurance - the bike is either under me riding to and from work, or parked in the secured basement car park at work or even more secure basement at home. When I fancy a year of wilder riding I get third party in case I hit a Porche or something. The bike is only worth 6-7000 at best.

Bikerboy:
What site is that from? That's the best explanation I've ever read.

Why would someone remove a safety feature ???????Idiot2

15 weight fork oil is pretty good. Any heavier and the bike steering feels heavy and slow to steer.
Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!

Aftermarket dampers do wonders.
If i could get one,i would.
An your not stuck with the heavy oil you put in your
standard damper.
With an aftermarket you
Can adjust to make it harder or softer depending on
what your doing on the go.

My opinion is based on things I bought, owned and used and if that makes me a know it all than so be it.From your posts it seems that your sense of safety is non existent!!!!!!!Scary when your job according to you is in child protection!!!!!!!!!I would not let you protect a rented portable toilet let alone a child with an attitude like that.

Laws of physics as in changing C of G, inertia, gyroscopic effects and much more all come into play regards head shake on a motorcycle. A dampener is fitted so that when these elements no longer play together it helps to minimise the effect this has on the loss of control of the bike. Not all bikes have them fitted standard .......... but a lot should (Early R1 as an example as it's a thrill ride without one)
I think anyone who has experienced a severe "tank slapper" would not ever consider removing it as apart from wrecking your seat due to your sphincter muscle sucking it so hard up your bum it's also usually the only thing that keeps you attached to the bike.
Now maybe if I had two bums ........... butt ? Lol2

"If any defects are found-replace the Damper with a new one" ----or GRUNTMAX's near new one. Currently stored in a box with the tension adjuster screwed all the way out (anti-clockwise). Lefty Lucy--Righty Tighty.Coolsmiley

Who the f*** are you? And what is your problem?
You've been the only one on here displaying any sort of bad attitude.
Can you read? I didn't say my bike was safe, but I've done my own risk assessment and have decided not to insure it for theft as that's unlikely and it's cheap to replace myself.

You believe a steering damper alone will stop you tanking your bike do you?
Does the manufacturer put it above rider input as well? There are other bikers on this planet, and they don't all ride like you.

If steering dampers are essential equipment, why aren't they on every bike?
If riding style isn't a factor, why are people discussing different steering damper options on here? Presumably there's a difference in performance from OEM, heavier oil or after market and if you're an extreme rider, you'd need a better steering damper. Logically then, if you potter around as a commuter you just might not need one. Just might, mind! No one on here is telling anyone to strip their damper off and throw it in the bin.

Are you lacking so much attention that you can be offended enough by me, (a faceless internet poster, offering an alternative experience on a steering damper), that you'd repeatedly insult me? If that brings any amount of satisfaction to you, then by all means keep calling me an idiot - sounds like you need it!

And I'm not impressed by your travels to other parts of the world or your incredible buying experiences - you're not unique! You've judged me on a few words and know nothing of the man I am, while giving away just what type ofshitty person you can be. You know nothing of my resources or ability and if you have any idea about the horrors some kids in Australia go through, you wouldn't use my profession as a cheap shot.

Don't worry, I won't be here long. You're the type of c*** I get fed up with quickly on these sites and move on. If you're that offended by me, just ignore my post, eh? I'll be ignoring yours. Twat!

Goodbye and good luck if thats what makes you happy,my idiot comment on people who advise others that safety equipment should be removed still stands (x 10).On the other hand, you calling me a vagina pleases me as its the part of the female anatomy I love and relate too..........I bet its the male part that you focus on!!!!
