Police car chase ends with four dead
Mar 21, 2010 2:31pm
FOUR people, including a child, are dead after another high-speed police pursuit ends in a crash.

A man, woman and child were killed at the intersection of Canberra Avenue and the Monaro Highway exit ramp at Narrabundah when their car was hit by a vehicle being chased by police last night.

The pursuit began at 10pm at Queanbeyan in NSW, and continued into the ACT.

The man and woman in their 30s and the child died at the scene.

The driver of the other car, a man in his 20s, was taken to Canberra Hospital where he later died. His female passenger, aged in her 20s, remains in Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

The incident will be subject to a joint critical incident investigation between NSW Police and Australian Federal Police and a report will be prepared for the information of the ACT Coroner.

seeing as you posted this up what is you ideal way of dealing with these car hoons that do a runner form the police that are trying to stop them ?

i would like an answer as this has been going on for to F#%&KING long we are loseing people that are innocent to this horrific act of stupidity
specialy when its got kids involved as innocent partys

true but gotta ask would it have happen if police had not chased at hi speed and called it off. prob still caught them later anyway? (just a different point of view)

You can't blame the Police for someone else's actions. It's terrible that the idiot killed three other people but the Police aren't at fault here.
"casting dispersions on others credability." And their illiteracy.

ever heard of a helicopter, radio etc.
Uno i have heard hwy ptrl officers talking how they used to run there cars in up on the central coast hwy at around 150-200 kph
I have seen hwy patrol letting a car run a red just to catch a dude using a mobile and nearly t-boned a car when they attemped a u turn.
Whats a farking car worth?????? 4 bodies These Hwy patrol only work for the insurance companies and they (not all but most) are more of a hoon than the people they chase.

And if u say "this has been going on for to F#%&KING long we are loseing people that are innocent to this horrific act of stupidity
specialy when its got kids involved as innocent partys"
Then do u think what they r doing is the right way?????????????

yeah ray i hear ya mate they already have helicpoters and radios mate im asking if there something better or more you think the cops can do .

IMO i think the best way is not to chase them but to let them think they have got away . and maybe arrest them later

i dont give to rats ass whom the cops work for as long as they stop innocent people being killed by idiots on our roads mate .

I'm pretty sure that in the UK they pull back once they have a helicopter up. It has to be the way ahead - expensive, but cheaper than killing innocent parents and babies. Hoons are also less likely to run when they see on TV how easy it is to be caught by a 'copter in the air (day or night) assisting a couple of units on the ground.

The nsw police halted the chase at the act nsw border from what I understand and the accident happened about 5-6kms down the road. It's a terrible thing for the innocnt family of three that the dick in the car with his girlfriend ran into

well they do have a quota system which makes them chase a little harder Kev. And i have had a fair bit of experience with them and i still think they should be using better judgement in there actions its ok to say there just doing there job But that dosent give them the rigth to put the public at risk of ANY danger.

So, no need to get the Violin out again dearest one, but what's the bet that the "hoons" were drunk & not the slightest bit worried about getting drunk and driving with the pissweak laws against drunk drivers.
If it was drink, it all boils down to one thing, pissweak Government legislation against drunk drivers in the first place for fear of loosing too much booze tax Government income.
It'll be intersting to see what the blood test results are for the "hoon" driver involved.
Just very sad that those innocent victims are dead mate.

Yes it is, and that you and Ray are using them as a political football. They were a husband, a wife and a small baby, not a statistic, not a headline, not a handy example for you to twist for your own conspiracy theories.

Todays Telegraph has a little more info on this http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/cr...5843520807

Seems the guy who was running had done this before, even spending time in a coma after he pranged the last car he stole.

I hear you Ray the cops are heavy handed, but what is the alternative letting car thieves and any other scum just run? Personally I think the cops aught to do what the Yanks do, run the f***kers off the road and what ever damage the runner does is added to his list of charges.
