Grunty - I find your response perplexing, you received free advice from Pete and then criticise him for not replying when you ask for more. Pete runs a business based on his years of experience, this is how he derives an income so critising him when he doesnt give away everything information for free seems ungrateful to me.

If I am reading this wrong then my apologies and I will withdraw my comments.

Grunt .............. Bruce certianly doesnt owe you an apology here, he (Alpal also) has simply read it as you've wrote it I'd say ?
Question to question on an answer to answer basis is a fine concept ............ on the proviso only if the person answering is under obligation to do so Knuppel2
Thanks for your non-existant reply on the camshafts Pete
This above also to me has a touch of sarcasm to it also, but as for me getting emotional over it ............. I reserve my emotions for much deeper things in life than the net Nerd rest assured Lol2
I had also said to you in an earlier post I am much to busy and even with 16 hour days they are still lined up here.
Re your camshafts ................ given they basically depict the power curve of the motor much more information would be required ie the cams I'd fit to a sand buggy motor compared to a race bike would be far different.
In saying that there is no claim to engine building fame here Grunt .......... I just bumble along doing what I do learning daily and simply try to pass this on to my customers giving the the best value / results for their dollar I can as luck for me is having a job thats also a passion which far exceeds the value of a dollar I'm glad to say.
Fame and fortune is far to over rated Wm I'd rather go for a ride ............ it brings one much more pleasure.
No hard feelings Pi_thumbsup
This is what I awaken to each day Grunt .......... and I haven't even got on my bike ............... beats the shit out of fame n fortune Yes

Hey Grunty,

is that last photo you in your 'Globe of Death' riding suit?
Pi_tongue

I have a challenge for you, (you seem to have a bit of time on your hands), what is the difference in profiles for a stock vs turbo cam and for a turbo vs supercharged cam?

Bonus question: If there are differences, why? (No half points on this game show cobber!)

Maj don't know anything about superchargers ;) but i am thinking of getting one on my next bike so i can learn, won't be as much power as a turbo from results posted on various sites but will be much more linear... maybe boringly linear ...

my thoughts on cams, no experiance... but, a supercharged engine i would think should be treated like a big all motor , there running on 14.7 psi boost std (atmospheric pressure ) if you raise the boost pressure the dynamics are still similar
not at all like a turbo that can have all sorts of complications with exhaust scavenging and back pressure
so if i were to build a 1580 supercharged i would pick a fairly big set of cams then play with the cam timing on the dyno
may be a bit lopey at idle with big cams and low comp but the bigger capacity will help some

Happy to be corrected on any of these points :)
Actually i know a little, already have one for my AMC Javelin

Thanks Maj. Yeah, that is the only thing that worries me about hi lift cams and idling. Just have to set the idle RPM a bit higher.

You guys sound like you actually know things. Gotta be happy with that. Can you tell me, if poss, will stage 1 Yoshi cams be able to give me low end power as well as mid range power please?

I've got the cams now I just need to get them to someone who knows how to tune them for me.Biker

Thanks.

I was talking to all the blokes making contributions to this thread Heidi, not just Grunter. The cams have gone back in, after the Sydney thing I'll want someone within an easy days ride to tune them for me.

Thanks Heidi. Thanks Grunter
