Ok as I've planned a hike around the countryside for myself. I've been thinking, I should put together a few handy items (just in case).
I'm on the lookout for some handy suggestions from those out there in the know.
I've always had a little kit with me in the 4WD or utes for the sole purpose of just in case, I'd better sort out one for the bike.

A hammer and a roll of duct tape. Ya can fix anything with that combo. 
Check out the link below. It's a full 'just about everything' tool kit checklist that you can tick, update and print as per what you choose. Might be easier to work up a good kit when you can see a full list of everything in front of you first.

Take three canisters of air in case you get caught between towns with a flat. If you feel ambitious, go the puncture repair kit. A can of chain lube is essential. Don't take any tool that you don't know how to use, gaffa and cable ties and an occy strap will fix a suprising amount.

lol thanks Heidi, I do love the last 3 items you mentioned. They were essentials in my 4WD and towing horse trailers around the country side & in the Ute trips.

The absolute cannot leave home without it tool is a girl's best friend - Your mobile phone. As long as you have a network anyway! lol.
Heidi is absolutely right - Gaffa and then some more gaffa willget you out of most break-ups anyway.

I am old enough to have travelled before the lovely invention of mobile phones (I am that old) lol....But your right, never leave home without one.
It's not epic but it'll be a hell of a lot of fun, which is exactly what I need.

One of those Anderson prop stand's are fantastic. For 45 buck's you then have an easy way to clean & lube the chain at the end of each day .Unless your clever enough to be able to slowly roll the bike & spray lube on at the same time by yourself ,or take a mate .Cable ties will fix a lot of thing's .
