but on second thoughts, change the bike locks and just have nothing to do with the loser. Life is too short to deal with wankers like that.
 to life with a 'busa, sorry for the lousy start, hope you have many great years with it, Like has been said above, there are many here who can put you in touch with anything you need to get your project up and going.

There is no need for Jimmy to post a name. I will own up and admit that it is me Jimmy has started this thread about.
Jimmy bought my K8 at the auctions after it was written off by the insurance company (it was sold with 1 key).
Yes, I have some bits and pieces left over. Yes, I contacted Jimmy to inform him of what I had & to see if he was interested in purchasing them.
I then worked out a price for each item (bascially half the price of the USA online parts catalogues), sent Jimmy pics of everything and then sent prices. Jimmy questioned the price of the key being $100 and I replied saying that I thought $100 was cheap as I knew of a member who paid $267 (not $300) in QLD - as per this post:

Look, after reading everyone's responses it appears I have stepped over some sort of line. I wasn't trying to exploit Jimmy IMO, I had goods for sale and he showed an interest in buying them. I was raised that nothing is free, all things have a price. I could have offered the other items at a higher price and "given" him the key, at the end of the day it's all the same isn't it?
Jimmy, I would have thought that if you felt I was really exploiting you, you would have emailed me back with a strong objection before bringing it to a public forum.
(also the owners manual, warranty book etc is still in his posession) Jimmy, you know I was giving this to you, why put it in your thread?
I am not a Dickhead (Volvi), or a douche bag (Busdriver), but it seems I have been slightly money hungry.
As for some other members, break & enter into my home, put fish scales in my fuel tank and filling my locks with loctite? very nice, when did vigilanteism become so popular in the AHC?

Well that clears up any confusion as now it is clear that the bike was brought as a right off from an insurance company who sold it as is. Troy your OK man

Seems like there is a wee bit more to this story than first meets the eye..... 
I, and I'm fairly sure most others that commented, were led to believe that the bike was purchased directly off the previous owner.....there was no mention that an insurance company was involved in the middle! 
And that being the case, it does make a huge difference to the whole situation!
Insurance companies are (in)famous for screwing the customer when they lodge a claim (this may or may not be the case in this situation?).
And at ALL of the auctions that I've attended, the standard deal is......you buy "AS IS".
This being the case.....if the bike is offered at auction with only ONE key (same for with or w/out tail hump, tank cover, pc, etc, etc.)..... then that is what you're agreeing to when the purchase is finalised.
More likely than not, the price you generally pay at auction is considerably LOWER than the normal price you would pay if buying privately or from a dealer (again, am not sure if this applies in this instance?).
If the new owner has an issue with what the vehicle comes with or without......his issue really should be with the party that is SELLING the vehicle (ie:-the insurance company or the auctioneer)!
So, in many ways, it seems the former owner (Troy) has tried to do the right thing by the new owner (jimmy) by making contact and letting him know that he can help with a few parts that may or may not be wanted/needed.
I can see both sides of this story a lot clearer......now that another dimension has been added!

I agree there is a little more to this than first shown.
I still stand by my post that i'd be happy to forward a key,
even if my bike had gone through auction.
A seat hump, Manual, rack etc etc all have a value to someone else
and i too would be happy to sell them on their own in a similar situation,
to seperate a key from its lock seem's a little odd. (maybe thats just me ?)
Like most of the crap you read on the net,
this is just worthless opinion, not fact.
Not having a go at either party.

Ahemmmmm I too thought it was purchased by previous owner. and on re-reading original post, it is a little ambiguous.
- Still $100 for the key and manuals that originally came with the bike is a bit rich IMO. They're useless to anyone else. My sense of fair play would say just forward them, and when you catch up, demand as many beers for payment as can be extracted!
All other bits are fair game!

The bike was brought "as is" at the auctions .................. Troy I believe has no obligation to the new buyer (keys, manuals or otherwise)
The new purchaser is not his mate .............. just a bloke that chose to buy a cheapy from the auctions.
As allready suggested I think also if the man was not happy with the deal the gentlemanly thing to do would have been a simple phone call ?
On another note there was actually a scam going down in a well known auction house in Melb where the staff where pinching keys after the sale of vehicle then contacting the buyers at a later stage offering to sell them to them.
After reading this thread a few times i wonder where our spirit of motorcycleing has gone . we are a club with members spread all over this great land . so i would think that this club and its members would look after each other , i completely see what jimmys saying and at the same time i can agree with LEV . but at the end of the day the spirit of motorcycleing should shine through . i see members on here sell there wears on here at no profit or worse they take a financial dump and lose heaps of money . End of the day its just a key i dont think Lev stepped over any line he was just trying to make money , it should have been kept off forum till it was propperly resolved.
i cant particularly see that its any good calling other members names (especially from admin ) , or threats of any kind , this kind of shit only pushes away our members .

In Perth too. It happened when I bought my Busa, and my Burgman, never ended up getting the keys for the Burgy, probably because I went straight to the GM and bluntly informed him that he should know what is going on under his nose.
Admins are people Kev, it isn't fair to expect that we wouldn't have an opinion. When ever an admin expresses a personal opinion (as opposed to an admin decision), they tend to get slammed for not being impartial. If we were forced to temper our opinions all the time, don't you think we would have a lot less fun on the site? Isn't that why we joined the club in the first place, and isn't the reason we are admins is so we can help the health of the club? Is it really fair to expect a small group of people to behave all the time when everyone else seems to think they can say and do whatever they want, specially when they are drunk and just 'stirring the pot'?
When we are being admins, we discuss every decision and nothing is done without consent from other admins. When we are being us, surely we should be given a bit of rope? Volvi expressed a personal opinion on this thread, as did I. We were not being admins, we were being club members.
If you would like (another) rule, we can put (admin) beside our names when we are moderating. I tend to do that already, but it might remove this issue.
