the people that manifacture these items wether it be here or OS they are usually really high standards HELI bars from what i have seen do alot of testing on there products and i dont think they would stick there name on or produce a product that is potentially fatal.
so no i dont think they are dangerious (i have a beast of a gen 2 here that has hel bars and looking at the bars they are of the highst quality so NO i dont think that bar risers are dangerious at all ) this is MY OPINION ONLY
kev ..thats a vote from me as well.
i love my bar risers.made the hybusa more comfy for me..
i was just quoting what the bmw sales dude was saying.
hubs dose like the k1300s but needs the bars raised like the naked version.(he doesnt like the naked version.he wants the k1300s)
tall bugger he is.now im speaking like yoda.
for my own peace of mind why would the bmw dealer say bar raisers are dangerous?
first off kev he aint mr cheeky....that makes me grr..he just dosent post on sites.no harm no foul.
he is tall and the BUSA was his first choice.
his long legs get cramped and he rides my bike when ever he wants..
he was happy when i bought a busa because it was the toss up of what he wanted so he rides the bikes when he wants too.
butttttt,
getting back too the issues
the bar risers..
are they friggen dangerous????
A lot of members here use them and I've never heard a bad word about them. If there was a problem with the busa, with bar risers, we would have heard about it in 10 years surely. Might be different for BMWs, maybe he heard something about them??

I run 25mm risers on Bundy's Busa (otherwise she would be pinned under my chest) never had a problem, ran Heli-bars on a few of the Aprilia's I have owned, no problems.
Have serviced many bikes fitted with risers, no prob's, but wait, there's more!!, A regular customer who was silly enough to purchase a H.D. then modify it with a less than desirable aftermarket frame or in this case a complete (Aust' made) rolling chassis. Not long after he had it up and running, he joined the Freeway at Parramatta, upped rev's, changed lanes and ploughed into the crash barrier, cause of accident: one riser snapped. Why: Because the frame builder(who is now no longer!) used Taiwanese/chinese shit. This is prevalent amongst the Harley Custom set. So much custom stuff available for Harley's a lot of the stuff is made in some backyard sweat shop, given a shit lickin' of chrome and sold through a dealer for a shitload of money. No quality assurance testing carried out.
End of the day; Buyer beware. Buy only reputable build quality.
Cheers,
Tex & Bundy
