selling the bike
#1
Hi guys,
listed my bike on bikesales yesterday 6am.
bike can be viewed at:

rob's busa

I have had 3 email q's and 3 subsequent offers. All at the same time.
I am worried about the first 2 as their email went like this:

"Good day seller,i will like to purchase this bike, please let me know the lowest
price you are willing to sell it to me...get back to me asap.."

No address but a local postcode and mobile # supplied .

So i replied and got this back:

"I am willing to offer you $12,000 for it,please let me know if you accept my offer, payment
will be through PayPal and the pick up will be arranged"

I'm concerned that both emails said exactly the same thing.

The third emailer offered list price but this was his reply:

"just wanted to make sure all bases are covered
I will purchase at the listed price and payment will be sent using PayPal and i will be
needing your email with PayPal for payment or you could send me an invoice(ill handle the
PayPal surcharge, you just let me know).Make sure you get back to me so that we can arrange
for pick up as i will like for it to be picked as i am out of town at the moment.
I await your reply.
Thanks
Zachary "

Call me sceptical but how can i trust someone who is willing to purchase a bike without even seeing it??

Any thoughts or stories on bike sales scams?

Cheers
Rob

Cheers guys
I Thought so. You just can't tell over the internet.

Shane,
Not in a hurry to sell and if i don't get any reasonable offers then i'm not worried. I was looking at getting a boat or jetski instead. Something i could do with the family more than i can with the busa.

Thanks again guys
Rob

Anyone who suggests to pay you with paypal is scamming you. They will ask for your details and make a dummy paypal site that shows money in your account. IT IS FAKE!!!!

Always ask them to call you and/or supply a landline number. Never offer test rides without taking a refundable cash deposit that covers your full insurance excess (for the just incase). If the buyer is legit a deposit should be no problem.

i've had two scams so far within a week , here's one of the enquiries;

''I was just about to make the payment when i had this little problem
with the picking up,I got an email from my agent..i taught i included
that in my previous email.he said he won't come and pick up the item
unless i pay him the agent commission fee first in order to be able to
schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters is in the
United Kingdom and all commission payments made for pick up, from
anywhere in the world is sent to their head quarters in the Uk and the
only form of payments they accept is western union money transfer and i
tried to pay online but i will need a credit card which i didn't bring
along, and there is no post office(there is usually a western union
section in most post offices) or any western union agent offshore! so i
have to ask you to help me with the pick up fees, i will include the
$950 they charged to pick it up and take it my home(1st class
treatment), to the payments i will send through paypal after i have
made the payments, i will need you to help me send the $950 to my pick
up agent through western union money transfer, the western union money
transfer can be made at a post office near to you, there is always a
western union agent in most post offices or online at
www.westernunion..com .I will be making the payments shortly and will
email you as soon as it has been done..
