Your getting a bit up market there Heidi - a swag or a tent?
What was wrong with this???? Remember sausages on a stick? - Simmo's southern and a bottle of coke? Luxury - it dont get better than that Luxury

Just thinking about options. Much as I enjoyed rolling around in the dirt with you two boys, if I'm going to do it more often I'd like to avoid things wriggling in with me.
Just thinking about my next adventure. I've decided on a small tent and a bedroll I'll make up myself and a hell of a lot of occy straps. It was magic though, you pansies that require 5 star, try million star accomodation.

there is a tent/swag type set up.
its like a trundle bed and the swag is comfy.plus the canvas set up is like a pop up.it all folds up neatly to the size of a single bed.a small one at that. gives you at least a foot and half off the ground. all those piccies remind me of the family camping trips also with friends.at local river beds and b&s great childhood memories. what fun they were.

That is exactly the point of my post cheeky. Which is totally off topic for this thread. The hard times are what we remember!
We rode round australia mostly in reasonable comfort (sic) and the highlight 4 me was the night we spent in the middle of nowhere, sleeping in the dirt, drinking a bottle of southern that Simmo had secretly hidden away. Anyway living within your comfort zone is great but is it something you look back on and smile about? I f*&^ing love room service but do I remember it later? Sorry for the thread hijack Heids

heidi, you dont want a swag you want a bivvy bag ( or farta) its like a giant human condom that rolls down to a very small size, theyre water proof but you can unzip if weather permits to enjoy the night air

Not a thread hijack, that was the bit I remember too. Burnt sausages, rolling the busa sideways down the embankment, two voltarin and a belly full of southern..... ahhhh good times. I slept like I'd been pole-axed.
THAT'S why I want a swag, that night and the night I spent at Threeways and the rest of the trip to the Rock. I love sleeping under the stars. SOmetimes I drag a matress out to the front paddock at our farm and sleep there. But I've decided the tent and a bed roll is the sensible option.
