saw this concept of a thread on another forum, made for an interesting thread.

so what do you do for work?

im currently a confined space contractor for sydney water.

its definetly one of the more labour intense jobs i have had, basically involves spending long periods of time in a pipe that runs from blacktown and down to st lenoards and beyond, re surfacing the inside while it has live flow.

I drive coal trains for PacNat. the money's pretty good but the hours are a killer (juz live for my days off) !!

Dude, ur doin' it all wrong......u wanna be movin' into the confined space "WATCHER" position - juz stand there & watch all ur w/mates get filthy instead !!! Pi_thumbsup

jeez that sounds like fun mate! I'm just about to start my adventure in the Australian Navy as a marine technician can't wait!

ive actually had my postion change this week too cockatoo for the hydroblaster, just stand there for 7 hours straight.
youd be surprised how hard it is to stay awake. im at the bottom of the ladder, as line of sight for the two standby guys up the top, but when the hydroblaster gets going i cant see anything anyway ahahah

yeah the guy went straight over a gumboot with one point blank once and cut it in half. scary stuff.

ATM I am a Thermal Power Station Controller at Kwinana power station.

I would like to get a control room job in the oil & gas industry, hopefully I'll get a chance when the Gorgon project starts.
