Thankyou gents

Thankyou gents for hosting such a wealth of info here, sorry to be so tardy in my posting. having just clocked my first 20k on this marvelous machine I thought I might share experiences and opinions..

As I mentioned in earlier posts its been 20 years since I rode, so re-introduction to two wheels on this machine has been , shall we say enlightening.. To put it in a nutshell "Im thoroughly happy" Ive joined a local club and had the opportunity to ride various other bikes, frankly..I think Ive got the right one... Had a few issues,,,tyres... Pilot Road IIs are my final choice.. predictable and dont do anything surprising .. Chains well I knackered a $200+ chain from a respected manufacturer in one 600k trip.. still looking into that...and the bike will accelerate to the needle stop and keep accelerating without a TRE or any other mod I can find...looking into that on a casual basis too. the inner top infill lugs end up outside and over the cowling after a high speed run, I can only asume something is not where it should be...these are all fairly trivial... Im one happy camper.....

What do u mean about the infill panels and fairing? I think mine might be similar?

Its a 2005... yeah and the infil side panels the ones under the handgrips pop out and the lugs end up on top of the top edge of the lower fairing, It happens in the mid 200,s somewhere, suggests to me that the whole fairing assy moves... a bit annoying... short of extra fasteners, not sure if its a design flaw or just an issue with this bike..??

Replace the missing panel and I reckon odds on it will solve your problem. Probably allowing air at speed to get up behind your gauges and creating enough pressure to pop your inner panels
