Hey I'm a newbie

Hello folks, great to be here, I've been browsing around for a while now, and decided to join...yippee for me huh? I started off riding when I was about 10yrs old, basically motocross and some short circut racing back in the early 80's...a few weeks ago now Very Happy I progressed to road bikes, and fell in love with my 84 GPZ 900 which I rode up until my wife said, and I quote, "I'm pregnant, we need a bigger car, get rid of that bike" Pi_freak Kids came, and throughout the years I just admired bikes from a distance. So kids grew older, and wifey finally sick of my constant moaning about missing my bike agreed to the purchase of a Harley or alternative cruiserYes I had heard about Busa's and secretly always wanted one since their release in 99. My quest for a new bike ended when I walked into a shop which had some nice shiny Boulevard's on sale, and the dude was keen to make a sale, offered me a great price on one. I went and got out the cash, and on my way in to purchase the cruiser, I spotted this red Busa sitting quietly in the corner of the shop, second hand but only 3500k's and in great nick. The bike salesman had the keys and paperwork ready for the Boulevard I said I would buy. You should have seen his face when I said, "mate, I've changed my mind, I'll take that Busa". He asked if I wanted to ride if first...I said no, just get it ready.

I had not been for a ride for many years, so after timidly riding it home through peak hour traffic, and explaining my choice to a less than happy missus, I parked it in the shed and just looked at it for hours. I couldn't sleep very well on the first night, as all I could think about was going for a ride to see how much power this thing had. I got up at dawn and timidly set off for a quick ride. My life forever changed when I finished a couple of twisties and found a nice stretch of road where, for the first time, I gave it the noise. Scary I'm sure I had to change my pants when I got back home, but I am still grinning and just cant seem to stop! Lucky this was a quick post you are probably thinking! I could go on, but I will spare you. Suffice to say, I'm now, although very new, a Busa enthusiast! Thanks for reading

Ahhhh..... fate! What a wonderful thing. You do realise you've saved yourself a lot of time and money right? So many people buy a Boulevard and puddle around on it for a year before deciding they want something a bit 'more' and trading in for a 'busa. You've bypassed all that hassle and gone straight for the 'busa - without losing anything on a trade-in. The good lady wife should be praising your fiscal responsibility!

You've found the right bike... and the right forum... pretty great start!

Welcome aboard.

Thanks heaps for the responses! It's always weird posting things and wondering if people think you're a complete DICK! Which, by virtue of my name, I guess I am :-) But it is reassuring to know that there are others out there that are 'moved into motion' by this fantastic piece of engineering. I look forward to being involved with the site, and hopefully one day meeting up with some of you. For those who are wondering, I am situated in Queensland. Keep living the dream my fellow enthusiasts and thanks again!
