Can't work this one out.
Fitted Led rear indicators (Front are normal)
Did the flasher can mod to get the flash rate right...no probs.
All works good but I noticed the other night when the fast idle was on in the dark (choke) that there is a small voltage going to both rear Led indicators. (Just enough to get them to flicker slightly).
This is with indicators off of course.
So I ring up Peter Stevens...they say get a good Bosch flasher can as per what they use.
Get the new one replace the other but exactly the same.
No loose wires or similar I can see...
(Gdy I hope ya didn't sell me bodgy Led's! ) Cheers,
Pete

I get the same! Big bloody deal!
Christ I thought I was fussy.
That's getting "Anal"...
I'll buy the new flasher can of you DJ. I was intending on slowing the flash rate.
I get the same with the extra leds (Laser bolts)I fitted
to activate with the brake lights.
Now take a bex and have a lie down...
Cheers, your old mate
Bloody big pair of girls the both of you !
All this macho bullshit and posturing you go on with and you can't fix the most basic of bloody electrical problems ???
Loosen off your phucking Kanooter Valves half a turn and change you blinker fluid. Basic basic stuff.
Geeze... !!! Regards.... Rob (Astro)
listen guys u cant tell me its right that that happens but if it does it on yours too gdy fair enough.
it must be just an led thing.
sorry but yeah i am fussy bout my bike just like i know most of u out there are 2.
including u gdy!
it just didnt seem right to me.
its not like i was waxing the seat for fucks sake.
(unless anyone knows of a nonslip brand??)
guess i'll just ride it like that looking like theres a short in my indicators...no wuckin furries...
suppose its only an 18 grand bike, who cares if the indicators dont work they way they should. Cheers,
Pete

Sorry Dj... didn't realise it was pissing you off that badly. Regards.... Rob (Astro)
I'm fine over here..
Can anyone draw the circuit for the LEDs?
LEDs can leak on reverse voltage, but they shouldn't in normal usage if they are getting the right voltage.
I wonder if the problem is not through induction in the wiring loom, as the Flasher is prior to the indicator switch which means it should have no bearing on the LEDS unless the switch is operated or as Bear says there is some type of back feed up the negative circuit

Well it ain't logical that's for sure.
You can't convince me that they just do it...?
There's always a reason.
I'm sure cars/bikes that come out standard with these Led lights don't have this problem.
Any Electricians out there?

The only thing I can think of is a bad earth somewhere. Bit like when you see old cars with indicators one and they are very dull, plus one or more other lights (tail) are blinking out of phase. But, while not using any indicators, very hard to see why it's happening. Still, might pay to check all earths.
I've got Libertek with their flasher unit. Don't have this problem. What make are yours.
dunno throwdown, got em off Gdyup, and just added a good quality flasher can.
I'll tryu a few ideas on the weekend.
I'll get the bastard fixed...
Thanks anyway
The more I think about it, the more I'd be looking at earths. Particularly up around the tail light area. They are powered all the time, and if the earth was bad, the earth path for the tail light may well be through the indicator flasher unit then through the LEDs to ground.
It probably did have the current flow before, but led's will produce light at very much lower voltages and current than filament bulbs
Just for curiosity sake temporarily add a 12volt bulb (perhaps 5 watt)
to one side at the rear and see if that side LED still triggers. QUOTE: Lack of power has caused more failure than lack of intelligence or ability.
