How does it convert throttle position maps to iap maps?I,d like to see how the pc maps convert to ecu editor 2 for a gen1.Bear in mind, mine has bigger injectors, more fuel pressure, dramatically different VE to a stocker so the fuel curve was very different.A number of 200 on the fuel table could change to 195 up high in the revs and make the air fuel change 0.5 A/F. at 4000 rpm a number of 120 could become 100 and the A/F would only change 0.5.So a 20% change equals 0.5 a/f change at 4000 and a 2.5 % change up top also equals 0.5 a/f change. So if a power commander map has numbers based on percentages how is this converted to an inconsistent percentage change?gen 1 is cannot fast flash unfortunately.
Yep follow what your saying Glen............... but it's really not relevent in as much as there was a conversion feature put there to help guys with the Bazaz and pcv units to help them convert over, rather than build from scratch. It's like I brought a pc111 just before pcv came out, I can't use my pc111 map on a pcv.
This software was designed by a guy with a Gen11 that has the smarts to put it all together to make a program for tuning his own bike and has shared it for free .............. it's simple does away with add on bits that are prone to failure and for the guy with the new bike the only way to go. I did a bike the other day and basically the owner rode out the door with one thousand dollars more in his pocket that what he would have had before ECU Flashing was available. Thats pretty good in my opinion and also with more features than he would have had with three aftermarket units combined. So I guess for the person who allready has spent the cash and his bike set up, can either keep it the way it is or change over as I did. Scrapped the lot and flashed .................. for the new bike buyer I cannot think of one reason to spend a thousand dollars more for a set up thats not as good ?
It's new age ................ and best part is there is more to come, with new features being added all the time. (Allmost daily actually)
True Glen on the Gen 1 not as many features available, but from what I understand the Gen 1 ECU is not in the same league as the heart of the Gen 11 hence it's limitations regards how much the ECU can be programmed to do. In saying that the Gen 1 can still by flashing do all that it takes a pc and a tre to do without actually buying a single part ?
As an old mate used to say Its all Good Good
Cheers
EDIT
From what I gather Glen your concern is the conversion from pc map to Ecu2 ?
I actually downloaded a pcv map to my configuration and was going to then convert it ECU2 and load it ................. figured no point so just started with the base map and built it. Was surprised to see how much the difference in fuel cell settings between the two bikes. Mine RE55 stock air filter against RE77 BMC Filter the latter ran far less fuel in the 100% settings.
So to me no real point of concern .................. just build the map as required and flash it. Petrik has also modded the software and made it heaps faster also in the latest editions (four times quicker actually)
Could be time for a Gen11 Glen ?? I hear you get the bling at a good rate lol
