WSID Pro Street Bike (PS/B) 2009-10

It appears to me more and more everyday most dragracing classes are set up so the entrants only have to race at 80% speed.Heck why not bring back the 10.5 udl cutoff and put the last nail in the coffin.Dont dare go fast or we,ll give you nowhere to race.Ive never seen such negative promotion of a supposed adrenaline sport in my life.Maybe it should be called dragcoasting.Go easy or stay home. The track across the road looks better everyday.

I wont say to much untill i find out more info & who's stupid idea it was to go to 9.5, but lets say iam not happy that what was a "set up, ready to to run deal" from Pete & willowbank has been screwed up. Pi_thumbsdown

My original plan was to run at wed nights, fast fridays & the sat street meets then go to Qld for PS/B rounds, looks like thats the new plan as wellConfused

Now all you people up Nth can understand why some of us want to move to Qld.

And yes, Glen your are correct by your description.
Leonard & Dave, i know what you both mean. Leigh

I wana know why the did make it 9.5, Wtf we had a list of a fair few bikes even ones running mid to high 9s willing to run a 9.0 class, thanks WSID for f*&^ing us up yet again, i'm with you Leigh, a move to Willowbank is more tempting every day.

Now that I have had time to cool off, I can see WSID's reasoning for a 9.50 cut off, I dont agree with it, but I understand why they did it.
They would check bike times for mod bike, street meets and would see 30 that run close to 9.5, but only 5 that run close to 9.
Out of the 5, who would actually show up?
Out of the 30, who would step up and modify their bike to run 9.0 (be realistic guys, no one would when they have an easy run in Mod Bike)

WSID are running a buisness after all, they need as many people paying entry fees to race, and as many people as possible filling seats to make money. And when it comes down to the real nitty gritty, we are a minority with very little public following.

As i said, I dont like it and I wont support it, but I understand why they did it. And you dont have to support it either, you can still run Mod Bike and street meets.

Exactly what I was trying to say on previous page Cas. I too don't agree with the 9.50 index but NSW just doesn't have enough 9.00 capable bikes to front every meeting and honestly the QLD guys will support what they can but who can afford to travel interstate every month. The last thing we need is too get the class and loose it due to lack of support. Rob

I,m dissapointed too but if i get 6 runs and go home i dont care so much. What will be interesting is if prostreet is used as a barometer to peoples preference for heads up or dial your own,all within an index that many can aim for. That, i understand and can see may help stimulate the classes growth with new riders, if thats the intention, rather than pull bikes out of other classes to run prostreet 9.0. With the rule that you cant run one bike in 2 classes, maybe it should be called prestreet.Pi_tongue

The problem being, people where asked if they where interested in a 9.0 class & put there names down for such. Is any one interested in a 9.5 class ? Has a list been made? Will any one race it? I would doubt any Qlders will. I wont. Leigh

PS If they had tried the 9.0 class & didnt get enough fast bikes to run it i could accept the 9.5 deal.

Its only costing the track a trophyTrophy

Stevestanleys call apparently.when you look at it,unless you,ve entered cruise bike(mod bike),you can go in pro street and run as fast as you like.you get 3 qualifiiers and another 3 runs, all heads up,all pro tree on a prepped track. All for the same price as a testntune. So if alot of us all run sub 9.5 they will change the index.I wonder how many of these supposed 9.5 bikes and riders have now been considering the class, considering all the aspiring 9.0 riders drummed up all the interest in the first place, not to many i suspect.Ive entered am im going to ride the wheels off the bike.realistically.jamie,alex and leonard can enter and run 7,s,they comply within the rules of the class.

it would be good if the steve stanley's or other wsid track reps post a statement about the new class and there intentions for the season and reasoning for the 9.5 index. i can see that it would give many high 9 or low 10.00 riders an incentive to race against non barred racers on a low budget which is part of why the class has started. ie late model bike with xtd arm that would not meet comp bike requirements. mod bike in nsw doesn't usually get large fields ie 30 plus so this might be why they have gone this way to encourage the many streeters to have a crack where as comp bike is almost non existent in nsw as the nitro champs comp bike class would have been scrapped had the interstate racers not fronted. like spaman has said you get to run on a prepped track but if your numbers are good they might run an a & b group. ie 9.00 vs 9.5 indexes if numbers support it and if the fast guys front on the 9.5 then they will have to revisit it for the following season. if you run under 9.5 you would have to be a good chance of winning mod bike and if you manage top qualifier maybe a solo along the way. my 2 cents. cheers ian. be interested to see the progress of ps/b at wsid.
