Best way to clean inside Shoei XR1000
#1
I've had my XR1000 for about 18 months and just recently been starting to get a really itchy head after riding for about half an hour.

Just wondering what you guys do to clean the inside lining, as they aren't removable on the 1000.

The cheek pads come out at least but I think the best way would be to get a bowl of warm water and put a low amount of washing detergent in it then with soft spong wash the liner.
Then put it out side in the shade to dry.

I always wear a bandana under the helmet so the hat stays clean and just wash the bandana.

You guys seriously don't buy a new helmet every 18 to 24 months do you?

The Bandana is actually a good idea too.

There is a foam spray a bit like shaving cream, that you can get from the bike shop.

Depending on how old and how stank they are clean them as per the others recommendations or just buy new foam.

Or, I have some skull caps real cheap if anyone wants them, great to wear under your helmet to stop the mank.

HERE

Or I have blank ones i can do for $5

Just used a bit of eucalyptus oil and water and scrubbed it out, wasn't actually real dirty, just getting a bloody itchy head and need to pull up every 20k's.

See how that goes to start with.
