Hi.

Just trying to take care of the bike, opened the right panel and tank. Saw that the pump cable gets disconnected moment I raise the tank up (see pics)

Saw a bit of oil build up on the outside (see Pics)

Also noticed a tube end attached (see pic) which had like red oil in it - this is attached to the bottom of the air filter box (see pic)

What is the importance of the tube end? why did it had oil in it?

Cheers,

Bill

Don't worry normal for the residue caused by crankcase & throttle body vapours condensing. Just take the cap off & clean it. Also above the front sprocket cover there will be a drain hose with a plug in the end. Pull it and watch brown oily/watey crap come out, also normal.

Hi

Thank you Ohdear Trophy, This was very valuable info - I am correcting the routing - based on your scan documents - I could download a complete file from net.
I have attached the same to this thread.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Guys,

Issue fixed Trophy, no more surge etc all gone.

Did the following.
Changed Plugs
Corrected the fuel pump routing
added Kero to the fuel.

I did attached the rubber block back on the tank to isolate the tank edge from frame.

The red oil in the air box tube end was from my KNN.

I couldnt find this "Also above the front sprocket cover there will be a drain hose with a plug in the end. Pull it and watch brown oily/watey crap come out, also normal. " need help to locate this a pic will help.

Also noticed that this bike already had the air box mod done to it - dont know if this is good or bad but I have been riding with this for almost 30000Ks without any problems.

Its easy to work on a busa - the place under the tank is like the engine bay of a CadillacTrophy.

Cheers,

Bill

Sorry about that Bill, the oil catch tank drain hose is only on the 99 model, the crankcase vent was redesigned in 2000 so that model doesn't have a drain line.

Hi Guys,

Bike is running good, now I can spend some time on adding Braided Lines and lowering the front by an Inch and also rear.

I want to thank all the members whom I PM'ed and emailed - every one of you responded with heaps of ideas and important bits which I would have surely missed.

Thank you Horndog a.k.a Matt, Ohdear, lee8sec, andcad, Gnarbunkle99 and all fellow members.

Keep the good work.

Cheers,

Bill
